What's worse than waiting?

How about waiting knowing that when your MINI arrives, you won't be able to drive it? After ordering my MCS, I had a freak sports injury that wound me up with surgery, a cast, and crutches for my left foot (it's a 6 speed). Glad to say I'm out of the cast and the boot which followed, and happily driving around my new 05 CR MCS with a regular shoe and enjoying the H/K sound system. Woo hoo! But when it first got delivered, all I could do was look at it in my garage. And yes, I admit sitting in it like a little kid in the garage, playing with all the toggle switches, the steering wheel, and the stereo while I waited! Looking forward to joining in and being part of such a positive and helpful forum site.

Hey, Fish! Welcome. Sorry to hear about your injury. It'll all be forgotten very soon! Motor hard!

Welcomehttps://www.northamericanmotoring.co...s/NAMsmile.gif I can empathize with you!. We got our new car Apr 4. Due to various medical problems, I could not actually drive it until about mid-June!!! I Know EXACTLY how you feel.

Sometimes at night like at 2 AM I would go to a second story bedroom window and just look down on the roof! The good part was, my wife drives it every day so SHE got to break it in ... not me.https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ies/NAMlol.gif

Broken heel bone - no Mini driving for 16 weeks... Know exactly how you felt! The wait was worth it:grin:

I picked mine up 1.5 weeks ago. I was finally able to drive it once again today after waiting for a week.. so I know the feeling...
Still waiting for more of my energy to return so I can really enjoy it more....

Wow! Sounds like a few NAM members have been in a similar boat. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, and it's good to hear you guys are recovering too and out driving your Minis! I can't run (yet!), but I can walk and clutch all day! One step at a time. You know, the funny part is, even though I'm driving now whenever I want, I still sometimes go out to the garage just to look or to play with the stereo. This car definitely brings out the little kid in you.
