New F55 mini owner

Hi to everyone here,

just got out of a bmw 435 and into my first mini. It’s a 2015 cooper s. I’m familiar with modding bmws but I know nothing about these cars. What can be done to increase HP and fun factor? Any reliable vendors for parts both performance and aesthetic? Looking forward to a new project!

Piggyback module for HP or an ECU tune. There is Dinan, Berger, NM, etc. Also for ECU tunes several vendors on here as well as other companies doing the tune. You can buy a used Dinan Sport for under $200 or the Elite for more. I use the Elite on my F56 and no issues, others have had problems with some cars and the Dinan.

Probably want to upgrade the rear sway bar as a first step if you add power and want to tackle the corners or flick the steering to avoid potholes, etc.

The F series cars are pretty much BMW so you should have no issues with learning curve.

Yep - I agree with above. I came from BMW, so there really isn't a learning curve.

I opted for a Burger Tuning JB tuner and the clutch stop along with ditching the run flat tires - same items I had done on my BMW. Made a significant increase in performance and fun factor. I am quite happy and don't see doing much else other than cosmetic items.

Welcome! I just recently purchase a f55 also. The first thing I did was get a jb+ and billet intake. I’m familiar burger tuning because that’s the brand I used back in the days with my n54 and n55 e90s. Then I got married and had kids so had to get rid of the toys for a suv. Now I got the itch back. My cousin has a f55 and he went with the awe intake and Bytetronik tune. I kinda regret getting the jb+ and should’ve just gotten the jb4 off the bat. Good thing bms will give you full credit off the jb+ and it goes towards jb4. I prefer piggy backs cause I can easily remove if I have to go in for warranty services. To each his own tho...good luck!

What is your budget and target? Stage-1 tune will get you +40WHP and Torque reliably without adding any hardware.

Hi and welcome to NAM!

Welcome, what are you looking to do, piggybacks from those mentioned above are great. The nice thing is the F series platform can put down some big power gain with a couple mods,
