Introduction

Hello all, first time on a post. I went out and bought a mini cooper s, 05 convertible, i actually sold my motorcycle to buy this car because i just wasnt feeling safe on my bike with all the cell phone abusers. Long story short, i got the car...fell in love for the next few months, then tragedy strikes, i believe the SC has gone bad, started saving up for this huge expense, and here we go with septic issues, had to fork out 13k for new sewage line, big kick to the groin. So i finally get the ole tax check and did more research, found out there have been lots of issues with the tensioner, and seeing that my noise is coming from that side, went ahead and replaced it...i was overjoyed when the car started and noise was gone....took it out for a spin around the block and the noise returned. So i am in the market for a reputable shop in the central indiana region. I am located a bit north of indy and would welcome any suggestions.

Thanks for the reply, im fairly certain its the SC that has gone bad, i have searched for a rebuilder and it seems i cant really get a straight answer from anyone. I have tried to email steigimeir because i watched a video on their website that claimed 1095 for rebuild and add 200 if you want it ported. I emailed and asked what kind of turn around to expect and total on rebuild...they replied to the tune of 2895! So i asked how when the video clearly states a much lower price and he came back with a core charge...i asked how much is the core....surely not 1k and have not gotten a reply

Hi and welcome to NAM, Dave!
Sorry to read you are having many issues and your Mini is not playing nice. I hope you can get it worked out, without breaking the bank!
Show us some pics of your Mini, when you get a chance. First gen Mini Cooper S models are really good cars, but poor maintenance, can be their downfall.
I hope that you get it working as the fine auto they really are.
Keep us posted!
