Life has come first circle...

First car I ever crashed was a 1959 Austin Mini Minor in 1961 hen I was 4 years old in England. My Mom left me in the car by myself in front of The Officers Club...I put it in first gear and pushed the starter button...crashed into a room of women playing bridge. Now 58 years later, I buy a new 2019 Mini Cooper S JCW I.O.E. and can't resist laying down some rubber.

Please don't crash it into a room of women playing bridge. And welcome back to the fold.

Congratulations on your new purchase and welcome to the forum. I will have to agree with Minibeagle, avoid women playing bridge at all costs. They were understanding the first time, I doubt they would be the second time.

Never actually been in a manual shifting car that wouldn't stall out almost instantly under those circumstances. The car would normally just lurch forward a bit. I'm thinking the story has some details missing.

Anyway enjoy the new ride.

Since you were not there. I guess you can think you knew the situation. I was 4...held down the starter button (no key in the ignition)...the battery and starter did all the work and busted thru the outside wall...went in far enuff I could see ladies at tables. Those are the details :-)
