'08 R55 Dadwagon from Des Moines.

Hi,

I've recently bought a used '08 R55 6spd in Sparkling Metallic. It's a not an S, couldn't find one in the area with a 6spd. I bought it with 42k on it with a decent maintenance record and the previous owner had installed a clear bar. Seemed like it was taken care of. It's my daily and it's a blast. My 2.5 year old enjoys it too. He likes to pretend to drive it when i come home from work. I have yet to take the 3 month old in it for a ride.

I've always enjoyed a good MINI but never thought I'd own one, especially a wagon. Now that I do, I understand the fascination with the little things.

In the little bit of free time I do have, I make my own beer, play a game or two, or my favorite thing to do .... catch up on sleep.

Cheers!

I'm fairly certain that I'll need a replacement bumper.

I've recently bought the same car in an S model. Same colour also, wasn't a big fan of the sparkling metallic but it's growing on me. I bought mine to restore with a supposedly blown engine. I got lucky and just had a bad timing set.
well now that the bumper is shot you get to do the first mod, an aero kit bumper set. 😎

Thank you for the links. IveI'actually ordered parts from you guys prior to making an account here. Thos peaky plugs and coils had to go. I'll keep this saved for sure.

You know, I like mini clubmans, I've been debating taking this opportunity to make it look nicer. I saw the sidesshot of your Clubman and it's dope. I'd want a roof rack and aanicer set of wheels, I'm thinking the JCW Challenge. SSM may not be the most popular color, but I love it. At times it's silver, others gold and other times it's grey.

I'm not sure what the difference is from aero and non-aero. Have an example? I looked at a JCW aero kit but way out of what I can afford right now. However, I do think you're right abour siezing the chance to make it look nicer. I prefer the honeycomb grille over the chrome, so that's on my list. I also like the bumper on this Clubman (attached photo) but I'm not positive if this is the post refresh front end and if it is, is it even compatible?

The picture of the side shot is my first mini. I'm rebuilding the one with the ssm paint. I still own the dark silver one but will be selling it to fund all the upgrades to the ssm one.
the pictures appear to be post update. Someone here should have a grill for sale reasonably priced to replace the chrome one. I'm with you and prefer the honeycomb grill.

Yep the grille is better looking, on the Clubman , NON S not too many options and to mod the S bumper on the NON S mINI would take some work. I have seen people do it but its not a straight swap. What JCW Clubman of ours did you see?

Garbino has some stuff for the R55 NON S pre 2010, some people mods the JCW style grille to fit, its that bottom trim and grille that needs moded for the Cooper NON JCW bumper cars

This is the 2011+ Clubman/hardtop/convertible NON S, but i dont know if people got it to work on the pre 2011 51112751291

UPDATE:

I managed to find a replacement Front bumper from a not so local salvage yard as luck would have it, it's the same color as mine, SSM, the Cooper S front, and has the black honeycomb grille. Here's a photo I snagsna shortly after installation.

Unpacking the new bumper .

The before .

The after. Sans moustache, which I need to buy.

Edit: words-spelling

Racemesh also makes grills for the R and F cars. A bit pricey for the F Cars but well built.
