Congrats on your very, very nice MC40! A rare and super cool first gen Mini!
The pic looks like you live west of the Cascades! You are close to some really fun roads. These street legal go-carts are made for the twisties and I am sure your smile will increase once you get out to them! Just be careful, as that smile may become permanent!

I've heard that the runflats are a much harsher ride. The previous owner just put these on, since the he had the original 14 year old tires still on there. (Tire recommendations anyone?)
I bought the car from a guy in Wyoming on Aug 4, not from Mini of Portland, although I have had it over there a few times to get stuff fixed and pick up some parts. I was at Mini of Portland for the MTTS event and saw another one there. They even had Paddy Hopkirk there for an event a few weeks back. Too bad I didn't have it then, he could have signed my car.
Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Hankook v12 205/45/17 used them many times. That would have been cool if your MC40 was there for that event.

Choice of tires depend entirely on your usage. I run Federal 215/45r17s on my MC40. They have a 40,000-mile guarantee and are around $60 ea. through walmart.com. Tread pattern is really aggressive looking which you may not like.
And before everyone starts yelling, I realize they're cheap tires but they have excellent owner/driver reviews, and did I mention they're cheap? Plus they're much more comfortable than run-flats and perfectly adequate for a weekend-only car that never sees redline (well, occasionally).
