Hello from Indiana, soon going to the Upper Peninsula, Michigan

Hi guys, I bought a 2004 MCS 3 months ago with 163k miles.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my MINI since I got her!

Gonna put Blizzak WS80 on her and go to school for a semester in Jan

Welcome. A MINI with snow tires and/or studs makes a huge difference in the snow. Like a tank.

That is what I've read!
This is my first time running snow tires.

On a side note, can I drive 400ish miles on snow tires when the road is dry?
Will I burn up the softer compound and decrease the effectiveness of the tires in snow?

I'm on my third year on the same set of snow tires and have had plenty of dry days. We've had snow all week and I'm getting around fine. It's still plenty cold, which is probably more the issue.

I did that at the tail end of Fall this season and also drove it last fall in a rental. AMAZING road! The elevation changes are too good and the tunnel of trees bit is amazing!!
The road along Eagle river is even better imo. Much narrower and more cambered in places. Also, less traffic.
There are similar roads near Watkins Glen in NY

I'm planning on travelling all over the UP at the end of spring next year
