waiting for my baby

I bought my first-ever MINI yesterday! Waiting impatiently for it to arrive sometime next week. I got a factory demo with 6200 miles on it-- a very good deal.

2015 Hardtop, Iced Chocolate Metallic
(they are adding copper stripes to the bonnet for me)
moonroof, interior firework, heated seats, sat radio, armrest

I'm an actor living in Atlanta, and this will be my first new car in nearly 12 years. I spent Labor Day doing test drives-- Nissan, Honda, Hyundai-- and then finally Mini. There was no comparison. Driving the Mini was a revelation. I had always heard people describing certain cars as being "fun to drive," but I never really got it. Now I do. Holy cow. I get it.

Welcome! Congrats on the purchase of your new MINI! You'll always have that smile on your face while driving it!

Thanks! Still waiting . . . not sure when it will arrive. Trying not to go bananas and exhaust my FB friends with non-stop "I'm getting a Mini Cooper!" posts.

Welcome to NAM and congratulations on your first new MINI! Is there anything out there on TV that we would have seen that you acted in?! Be sure to post up some pictures of your new MINI once you get your hands on it!

Most of my work has been in theatre, but I've done a little film/TV. My imdb page is here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0920200/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1

Very cool! I bet it was great working on set of The Campaign and Selma. Keep up the great work!

Olenska 09-15-2015 12:02 PM

I got to meet Will Ferrell. Very nice, down-to-earth man.

Working on Selma was like a dream come true. So proud to be even a small part of that film. :)

That's good to hear! Most of the time, with big name actors, you hear they aren't that friendly in person. Selma was a very great film and it's pretty awesome to say that you were able to be on set for it! I've done some small stuff, mostly music video and amateur hosting for car companies. I actually did a reality car show for BBC America that came out this year. That's the closest I've come to a big name TV gig. I did work with a lot of the producers and directors from Top Gear UK, which was really incredible. It's these type of experiences that you look back on and say, "Wow, I did that!" I'm going to have to go back through those movies now and keep an eye out for you! :)

If you need anythings let me know. The hood stripes look good, first I have seen that color on an F56 ( Gen 3 ) MINI.

Olenska 09-21-2015 10:13 AM

Thanks! I specifically asked for stripes in that color. Very pleased with how it turned out.

Next year, I hope to upgrade her wheels. Emma Peel needs so go-go boots!

Yea Nice, stands out with the " Iced Chocolate " body. Well, for wheels I would go with black to match the boots. 17" have the best ride for the size, if you go larger the ride will be a little harder, also go without run flat tires ( softer ride) and carry a spare fix a flat or tire repair kit.

Based on what I think the character would use the Cosmos spokes would look nice in black. :) There are other options linked also.

Good luck on the set. :)

Thanks

Those are nice. Yes, I'm trying to decide if I want to play up what chrome the girl's got and do some chrome wheels, or go with black. The unorthodox option is bronze, which is cool, but I'm not sure I want to add a competing shade of brown to her look.

Question about the boot: Emma does not have the Storage Package, so the boot is just basic, with the little wells sitting there. I'd like to slide something in to cover them up, so I can keep things like jumper cables and first aid kits in the little wells and then have a nice level surface for more frequent cargo items like groceries and luggage. Would this serve?

If you do some chrome wheels they will have to be some other aftermarket wheels.

For Bronze, we have Satin Bronze under the aftermarket wheels from NM Engineering.

That factory mat is for the flat load trunk option, flat floor piece that goes over the well.

So you just have a deep well in there and nothing else.

Weathertech ( who does tons of TV commercials ) has you covered for the non flat floor option.

Your boot ( trunk ) looks like this. :)
