Happy new to me mini owner

Just traded in my TDI Touareg (life changed a bit) and narrowed my car search down to a used wrx (non sti) or the Mini Cooper s. I was looking for a manual car that was fun to drive. I chose the cooper for that reason and the build quality seemed way better on the mini. I remember just shutting the door of the wrx and it felt and sounded like tin can. I am having a lot of fun driving through the Santa Cruz mountains with my Saint Bernard in the back. Any recommendations on tint darkness?

How much driving do you do at night? In South Carolina 37% was legal but they didn't make tint that %. I ended up with 25% and it's not too bad at night if you roll your windows down (I have a little bit of night blindness too though)

I drive home in the dark especially during the winter months. So you recommend having the back window less then the side windows?

Not at all. I guess my wording was a little vague. Really the only time I had to roll down the windows to see was in low light areas (backing out of my driveway especially or driving in neighborhoods.)

City streets and highways were not a problem since they're lit and other drivers typically have their headlights on.

My advice would be to sit in others cars that have tint and see what you're comfortable with

I was quoted $265 out the door what do you think of the price? Seems steep for the size of the cars windows.

Seems a little steep. Do they offer any sort of warranty for it? Like if it bubbles or peels within X days/months/years they'll replace it

Yes life time warranty. Got another quote for 150, still calling around. I am guessing the shops that are in the 200$ range offer lifetime warranty. I will see if I can get lower with warranty.

So I got the 20% on the back three still contemplating the front two. Living in California it is illegal under 70%. So still need to think about what I can get away with.
