2014 Roadster S ordered 8/17/13

I ordered my 2014 Roadster S with the JCW Exterior Package today! See my signature below for details. Logged into the MINI Owner's Lounge for the first time. Very nice site!

Am I an official MINIac now, or must I wait until delivery?

Dave

No, you don't need to wait to officially be a MINIac...Just by the excitement you expressed in your post has you certified for at least the next 4 years.

But, you must name it and post pictures when you get it, otherwise no one will really believe that you are really a MINIac.

Our Blue turns 10 years old this Oct. Hope your roadster is as enjoyable as our Blue has been.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll post pictures whenever it arrives. With an ETA of September 26th, I'll have plenty of time to consider a name. At least I have a MINI production number to remind me of my purchase.

I hope you have continued good luck with Blue for another 10 years!

Dave

Smokey, our other MINI, just finished an autocross today (we have a tough group here so I just complete against my self) and is headed to the track for a HPDE on Wed. See what you have to look forward to? The possibilities are limitless as to what to do with these cars.

Yeah, yeah. I'll post pictures when my Roadster comes in.

I just found out they messed up one of options on the order form. My Roadster is Pepper White and the MA put "3BG Mirror Caps in White" on the order form. One very kind MA who posts on NAM regularly informed me it should be "3AB Body Color Mirror Caps".

I'm stopping by the MINI dealership today. I'm assuming (fingers crossed!) they can correct the order before the Roadster goes into production on September 2nd. The mirror caps should be painted from the same batch as the Roadster, or I could end up with slightly mismatched colors. That is unacceptable.

We'll see.

Dave

Update: The Sales Manager re-entered the correct information into the computer. We re-signed the form ("Vehicle Inquiry Report"). Since body color mirrors are standard, the information does not appear on the order form. Only optional equipment is displayed. Lesson learned.

Problem solved. I wanted Pepper White body color mirrors. He erroneously enter White mirrors (an option) when he needn't have entered anything (body color is standard). The Sales Manager made a corrective computer entry yesterday - she printed out a new Vehicle Inquiry Report and we signed the amended order. John Bull is fine.
