My New MCS - Scheduled for Production

Hi, All -

My BRG MCS, BRG roof, mirrors and C-pillars, is scheduled for production. Is there a way to track production closely? How long will it take to move to the next step - I think maybe that's "ready for transport," or something.

As you might expect, I'm very anxious to get my hands on the thing.

This will be my second MCS. The first was a 2005 Hardtop that I adored but kept for just a couple of years. It had the Sport package. I found the ride to be so harsh as to make the car essentially undrivable as a daily driver. Hitting the potholes and cracked pavement here in the Lost Angeles area and on I-5 made the car feel like it was breaking in half.

This new car does not have the Sport package, and it does not have the 17-inch wheels, so it will be a little more livable, I think.

Thanks for any information you can provide.

Congrats on the order. My MCS hardtop is also in production at the moment. It'll be my third Mini and only the first one had the sport package with 17"s. Mini #2 had stock suspension and 16"s and it was just fine for my driving style, so I wasn't tempted this time around, either.

Check out the "How to Track your MINI" thread, stickied at the top of this forum. Lots of good info in there regarding the process and how to keep tabs on it. Once the car begins production it takes eight or nine days to move through the process before it's complete and released to shipping, and you can even get updates throughout production if you're so inclined.

Welcome and congrats on the new MINI. As kavatski suggested, review the "How to Track Your MINI" thread. It is packed with great information. You can also spend some of your wait time review manuals and other vehicle specific information of the MINI site.

I thought about the 17" wheels and the sport pkg, but thought it may be a bit harsh here around the beat up streets of Chicago....so I didnt order them on my MCS. Thanks for confirming my decision. I thought I could always upgrade the tires and such later if I wanted.

The MCS Sport package no longer includes the sport suspension in it, so while it does upgrade the wheels to 17", they're on a standard suspension unless you add the sport suspension.
