My first real car and it's a MINI!
 

Hey NAMers!! After driving a terrible old Ford Tempo for a few months I was finally in the position to buy a new car. I was going to buy a SVT contour like my older brother but after seeing him drop in a new motor and trans plus all the other headaches I opted not to. He suggested looking at a mini. I wanted a Mustang Cobra but I realized that wasn't going to be feasible being my first real car let alone a stick. I also didn't want to buy a car used from a dealership, my brother has told me horror stories of what they elect not to do to save money. So After driving a few different minis I chose my HBM cooper S. I love the color and the interior with the black/blue. I picked her up at Carmax and got the extended warranty. I plan on doing a few tasteful/light upgrades nothing too crazy I still want decent reliability. So far I have a mini mania header, IE exhaust, and a madness intake installed. :grin: Here are some pics

Congrats, and Welcome Aboard! That's a nice S; a great vintage (R53). Nothing against those who love pony cars, but I think you made the right choice in going with a MINI over a Mustang.

Thanks guys!!! I'm loving it more and more everyday. Glad to be on NAM! My older brother told me to find a good forum for my car and I think I've found it. I'm learning more each day and I'm sure one day I'll know my car inside and out like he does his svt.
