Just read awful reviews of Cooper...is this site real?

Hi
This is my 2nd mini cooper, however I have just bought it and looking on the internet I came across this website
CONSUMERAFFAIRS.COM absolutely frightening, hundreds and hundreds of disgruntled mini cooper problems...anyone have a MIni with over a 100k with minimal problems....what does the warranty REally cover ??

I LOVE my mini...I hope i got a "good" one lol...im out 33k if it breaks...

There are a lot of people who have had issue and many more who haven't. People are more apt to express dissatisfaction that contentment. I have an 08 Cooper that I bought with 37000 miles. I now have 58000 miles and have had no issues. I too hope my relationship with this car stays as wonderful as it is now, but I feel that many end up with issues, by following the manufacturers maintenance schedule. Change the oil more frequently, and have it serviced more conventionally than the required maintenance intervals and I think you will remain a happy Mini owner. I have several cars and one of them in my garage is my dream car, and I love driving my Mini more than my dream car.

I just checked that website again and searched Toyota Corolla, which had an equal amount of complaints...so I feel better now...not for the ppl with complaints, however Thank you for that advice about the oil change...that makes sense...I will do this. Thanks

You are welcome. I saw those same reviews after I bought mine, but I started rethinking things when you see 150000 miles cars with no issues. Enjoy it!

Read the forums here, you'll get a good sense of what years and models are good.

IMHO, the 2007-12 R56 Cooper is one of the most reliable Minis out there.
