Hey everyone, I am a new member here, not a mini owner yet however. I just posted a thread in the R50 / R53 section about buying a mini, hasn't shown up yet though I guess.

Anyway a little background on me. I am an overall car enthusiast, but a very big Saab enthusiast. I own two Saabs at the moment, a 1995 900 SE Turbo which is my toy, and a 1997 900 S N/A that is my winter beater. If anyone is interested I can post pictures and details about them but otherwise I look forward to learning some info about mini's and hopefully picking one up very soon.

Welcome to NAM! My first car was an '83 900S 8 valve. Compared to that thing, an automatic Cooper (non S) is a rocket My Saab wasn't the most reliable car, but it held up to a lot of teenage abuse at my hands.

I actually haven't owned a front-wheel drive car since that Saab (got rid of it in 2000, upgraded to a RWD turbo Volvo) so the MINI will be an interesting change.

The 8 valve 900's are awesome. I owned a 1984 900 8 valve turbo until this summer and that thing was a blast, the rumble of the 8 valve was unbeatable IMO. My 1995 900 SE is just a bit quicker perhaps
