As I heard the Owners Lounge was at least a few days behind in reporting details, I called 866-ASK-MINI, put in my order #/VIN, and got a build date. I figure to do this again this Friday and see where things are at.

My MA told me anywhere between 4-8 weeks. When I ordered, a car had just come in after only 5 weeks, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

Yes, it would appear that much of the delivery timeline depends on the shipping and transport of the car to the dealership, and not the car being built as that takes relatively little time (mine took 7 days) in the scheme of things. I noticed that some people said their Mini shipped immediately after getting to the port. Mine sat at the port for 15 days before it was loaded onto a vessel.

It appears to me there is some level of backup at the port right now. My car was completed 9/24, was at port 9/26 (per Ask MINI). I did not get on the 9/27 ship, or the 10/2 ship.

BMW must be in an enviable cash position to allow that much time between arrival of materials and payment by dealer/consumer.

I guess I better join this support group. Just placed my order yesterday for a 2012 Clubman. The dealership overwrote an existing order they had in for one they planned to put on the lot, so they said six weeks tops. Sure hope it doesn't take that long.

The ship carrying mine has docked at Port Hueneme! I can't really tell when my car will be offloaded, but it will probably only be a week or so before I can pick Fenimore up!!

Hi - new guy here and just ordered a MCS last night after working with the dealer until nearly 10pm (they closed shop at 9pm).

The dealer should actually be placing the order sometime today. I can't wait!

Exyank.

Just thought I'd pass on the information that I obtained while waiting for my CM to be loaded on the ship. The vehicle is built in Graz Austria and then transported to Bremerhaven, Germany. Where it waits to be put on an available ship. Mostly the WW line I noticed that there were more than BMW's and Mini's being put on that ship. I did See MB's and maybe some VW's as well. My ship the Otello can transport 6700 vehicles. It's not a BMW decision as to when the vehicle is loaded. WW has contracted to take just so many of each of the manufacturer's vehicles at a time. Thus the delay. FYI our CM had finished production on Aug 19 and was sitting in Bremerhaven from the 23rd to the 31st. Left Bremerhaven on the 31st and arrived in NY (Jersey City NJ) on Sept 16th. I took delivery on Sept 23rd. Just be patient it will get to you. Remember the saying, Good things happen to those who wait..

Hi all, just a curious note about something I just found out. Apparently the ASK MINI answering machine gives you different information on your vehicle depending on wether you enter a production number or VIN. Since I started tracking my MINI Ive been using the production number and it has been saying that the car is scheduled for production with no specific time or something like that. Today I tried it with my VIN and the machine told me that the car is scheduled for completion on october 6! so that's great news!

My Countryman completed production on the 20th, and was at the port either on the 23rd or 26th, depending on who you ask. It's also been sitting there since then. There is a ship leaving Bremerhaven tomorrow, I'm hoping that's the one but at this point I expect to be disappointed again.

Yep that is what happened to my Coupe. Finished on the 16th.. sat around until the 24th.

MINI systems sometimes update slow so check with your MA and ask what ship you are on. I was on a K-Line ship and it updated 48 hrs late and my car was already in the middle of the Atlantic before I got confirmation that it was on a ship.

I just tried both numbers and got the same information from both of them. The interesting thing is that mine is also scheduled for completion on 10/6. Maybe they'll be on the same ship. I'm in CA though so if you're on the east coast it will be a different ship. I'm surprised at how quickly it's moving. I only ordered it on 9/19.

Yesterday my MA confirmed that it was at Bremerhaven still waiting on a ship. I was hoping it had made it on a K-Line that left on Friday, but it hadn't. The next WW ship is tomorrow, and then there is a week wait for another WW ship. The next K-Line is on the 7th.
