New to MINI's

Hey all,

Just picked up my first MINI this past Monday. I went all out and got the JCW. I didn't really know the differences until the wife suggested I look at them as it fit my criteria for my next car. Then I went in to research mode and felt the JCW would be the best match for me as I am a speed nut.

Welcome HarleyDS! Well, you certainly got that speediest of the bunch. How about some details? Driving impressions?

I drove a Focus SVT before and also have a '92 Mustang in the garage.

My reasons for picking the MINI was pretty simple. Its the hottest looking and impressive card available with the best overall gas mileage.

Handling is nice. I only put on about 100 miles since Monday night and I had to take off for a trip out of town. The acceleration is more noticable in 2nd gear and above. The Sport button makes a huge difference.

The Dealer was Vista Motors in Coconut Creek FL, Giorgio Ortiz was the SUPER great sales guy.

I was thinking about a '10 JCW so I could save about $5-6K, but I couldnt find one with the options I wanted nearby.

Instead, with the .9% financing, the $1575 off for the Premium package, and getting the showroom floor model with 9 miles on it and not having to deal with getting it shipped from another state, it just made more sense.

Any other details or questions? please ask. new to this forum and still getting a feel for the crowd.

Focus SVT was definitely a nice ride! But you have stepped up and made a great choice. Now, what are you going to do with your new project? There are are world of possibilities. Will you be the next quarter-mile record holder? Will you come up with a paint scheme no one else has thought of?
You, my friend, have a blank canvas. Do with it what you will. We will be watching to see your progress.

I thought I had loaded some pics into the gallery, but it's empty.

I'll have to load them up when I get home. In nj visiting my parents for the weekend.

Black body, red roof/mirror caps with the jcw bonnet stripe.
Chrome scoop
Standard black rims 17"
Black leather with red stitching seats, chrome interior bezel,
Convience package with mini connected
Premium package - freebie
White signal lights
Front and rear fog lights
Red interior trim accent

That's all I remember for now

Im curious how the numbers worked out for you....Im in miami so closer to south motors and Braman (which I heard sucked)....and Im considering the JCW as well for the same reason. South motors has a tiny inventory though

I took her off the showroom floor. Giorgio told me each dealership gets an allotment of JCW's. When they sell out, they have to wait. There was a guy that ordered a CM before me and he is still waiting for his order to go through so he can start his 6-8 week wait.

I went through the miniusa.com site and dug through all the dealers inventory until I found what I was looking for. Then i went to Edmounds.com and built one out and then had it send the specs to all the local dealers. They e-mailed me to make an appt to come in.

The mgr wouldn't budge from the sticker price minus the $1,575 for the prem pkg. I did however get a few extras tossed in to make me feel better. I've never paid sticker before, but for this one, I was ok with it.
