Make sure you have plenty of time to look at everything.

Mine had two defects which they were going to resolve prior , just had to wait on parts.

You can go for a test drive to make sure it checks out okay.

If you decide to stick with the dealer-applied stripes, check the edges. Our dealer "threw in" (yeah right) a bonnet stripe for the MCS, which we went back to have installed a few days later. The stripe guy did not curl it under the edge of the bonnet, leaving a jagged edge exposed. We had to make them redo it. Apparently this laziness is not uncommon for dealer installed stripes. I have heard similar stories from many others.

The only thing we missed when picking out our cars was again with the MCS. The rubber mats have a little carpeted area on the bottom, meant to stick to a velcro tab that sticks into the floorboard. Those tabs were not present in our MCS, we didn't even know they were supposed to be there. Luckily I spotted it when test driving the MCCS and the salesman gave us a set for the MCS.

He should throw in some goodies. Mine gave me the hood stripes, my choice of carpeted or rubber floor mats, two of the really nice Mini Key rings, the BMW/Mini digital tyre pressure gauge. a Bottle of the BMW Fuel Injector cleaner. Make sure they give you all the manuals. And my ma spent about a hour going over all controls , switches and such.

If it's not too late, you may request from your MA that the dealer 'NOT' drill holes in your front bumper for license plate mounting. If your state requires a plate in the front, you may consider the kit here - http://gominigo.com/

It looks like this: gominigo tow hook kit installed

Make sure they remembered to remove the shipping blocks from the springs.. apparently a few users here have had these left in, resulting in a very stiff ride until it was figured out.

No dealer stickers on the back.

I usually make them keep their license plate frame too

Get this one in writing so they'll have to fix it when they do it anyway.

Speaking of stickers... maybe it is just that our local dealer has a crappy detailing dept, but both of our cars still had lots of adhesive residue from stickers on the windows.

if you didn't already take advantage, 0.9 financing and a free package upgrade (seriously, so many dealers keep this as a "secret" from the customer unless the customer brings it up... but they take advantage.)
