New to NAM and new to Mini's

Hello everyone,

I am new here on these forums as well as new to the mini cooper world.
I've been a volkswagen head for a while but I just recently sold my heavily modified jetta and have a deal lined up to be purchasing an 03 hyper/electric blue mini cooper s on sunday :)

I'm looking forward to the transition and all the fun this new car is going to bring!

So out with the old..

I went from an '05 EVO 8 to a regular Cooper and fell in love with them.:)
Now I have a '05 Cooper S that is geting a lot of work done when I get home from Iraq and I wouldnt have it any other way. I even passed up trading it in for a '07 Lotus Exege S 220:eek2:

Welcome to the forum and know you can't wait until Sunday and official MINI ownership.

definitely cannot wait.
I will tell you what I am purchasing just to see if everyone approves and thinks it's a good idea.

I am purchasing an 03 Hyper Blue Mini Cooper S with 64,000 miles on the clock. It just had a recent tuneup and everything neccessary replaced and has all receipts to prove it.

Now here's the catch,
I am buying the car for 9k. The reason the seller is selling it to me for that price is because it needs a new power steering pump. He said all these cars need these at least once, which is what I've also read. His asking price was 12k but he'll let it go for 9k if I worry about the power steering pump myself. He has the parts ready to install and such and he says that if I pay the 900.00 for the parts, he'll pay for the install himself.

So bascially, I purchase the car now, drive without power steering for a month, then when I have the money to pay for parts, he'll take it to his shop and pay for the labor.

Sweet deal?
