I'm new here.

Just picked up my first Mini. '04 MCS. Wondering what the "R" designations mean. R52, R53 etc. Also, I want to Chrome out my grill and surrounding trim. Any pointers on where to go or if it's a DIY job?

I think the R stands for Rover as Mini was once part of the Rover Group.

To chrome out the front of your car you can get the OEM Chrome grille it fits the best. I think I actually have a used one at the shop that you could get for a good price.
