New to Mini and new to this site

Hello. We just picked up our new Mini and couldn't be happier. It's her car but she said I can drive it on special occasions. I figured this site might provide some useful information that isn't addressed in the owners manual.

My wife has wanted a Mini for quite a while. When the Mayfair Edition was offered she had to have one. I think she got every package available... "S", cold weather, comfort, performance. We ordered the bonnett stripes, but they didn't put them on. It's an automatic for her pleasure. She let me drive yesterday. I am very impressed. The handling reminds me of my old Miata. Very responsive.

We are currently living in Germany but will be moving back to the US in a couple of months. It's a US spec car. When we picked it up the Mini rep advised keeping it under 100 MPH for the first 1000 miles. That might be difficult to do, but for the good of the motor I will do as advised.

This looks like an excellent site with some good information. We are looking forward to learning new things about our Mini.

Welcome! You found the fun factory! When you can, post pictures of your spanking-new Mayfair and enjoyment of same. In the meantime, welcome to MINIs and NAM!

Welcome aboard! You'll have 1000 miles on the car in no time, and then you can take a lap or two around the ring before you return stateside.

Happy motoring!

Pix, pix....

Congrats on the new MINI and, also, finding the motherlode of MINI info.
It won't be long until you're hooked on the MINI as much as your significant other.
You're gonna love it!

I hope the "owner" lets you drive frequently, if she doesn't, may have to become a two MINI family.
