I'm set to finish today, and board the Elektra on Tuesday *crosses fingers* but my Mini (see sig) was ordered 8/17 and started 3 days later.

We were actually at the dealership on Saturday 8/15, not aware of the status of the '09 model year, being told at that time that they wouldn't expect the '10s to start arriving till, say, Thanksgiving or so.

We drove a MCS, but looking at the boot space, and the backseat climb, knew that wasn't the right choice for our family. The extra inches and the suicide door of the Clubman were just the ticket, without (much) sacrifice to the Mini driving experience (this is not the thread to debate that!).

So we were happy and to the point of running the downpayment on the credit card (for the points) when my MA came back and said that an '09 Clubman was no longer available!

It was late in the day, and he said that he might could see if any other dealership still had a slot we could trade a '10 slot for, and that he'd call on Monday. He ended up finding one, and away we went!

The dealership seemed to have 90% premium package, and we weren't interested in that. And they had NONE with the LSD. Both of those were dealbreakers for me.

Now, a couple weeks later, I'm at my baby's birthday, with all the options/colors I wanted, and nothing I didn't want. ASK-MINI this morning still saying "Paint Shop", as did the live person right before they closed for the weekend last night. I was told it entered the Paint Shop when I called Thursday evening. So, assuming any work was done today, I'm assuming a human will tell me my '09 is done when I check on Monday.



Anyone with an '09 that still isn't off the assembly line?

 

2010 production starts August 31. I placed my order on July 24 and wanted a 2010 just for better resale in case we wanted to get the Crossman or whatever it's called SUV a year or two from now. I already have my Vin number and confirmed production for next week ( 2010 MCCS).
