Canadian Owner's Lounge?
I just got my production number and I'm in Canada. Can I use the miniusa owner's lounge? There didn't seem to be one for Canada. When I try the number, it comes back "not found".

No, no luck. You can call BMW Canada and they'll tell you where your's is at. PM me if you want the number.

Well, called BMW Canada for an update and it turns out that they are exactly the same call center as MINI Canada so no improvement there. So far it seems like the dealership still has more information than anyone else...

Unfortunately for us Canucks, a production number yields no power of knowledge. The only thing you know is if the dealer has given you a production week, these are usually accurate. My MCS was to be a week 7 production. It was that, and much more - in fact, the car has been produced and was loaded on to the Faust Feb. 10th, sailed same day, and is due at Halifax Feb. 17th! Amazing how this thing is moving. (must be the bonnet stripes  )
By the time the dealer gives you a VIN, chances are the car is near or at Southampton port, or perhaps has sailed. Try bugging the dealer early in your production week, they should be able to give the status code: 12 is good (production scheduled), 50 to 52 is better. (body, paint shop) Good luck with the wait. |
BMW-ca doesn't have a lot of info, but they did tell me when mine was: in production, at the dock, loaded and in transit, off loaded, and just last week that it was on the train. Not as good as MINIUSA, but better than nothing.
