Too bad they won't hold the boat for a couple of days for an on-shore excursion at the VDC and then back on the ship to for the faster ride here!

The Undine has been so cleverly elusive we do not know where it is on the map. I would be embarrassed to call my shipping company I use at work for this information, but it is getting tempting. We'll probably have to look at the webcams this coming friday. After that, I wish they could deliver from the port to my home in the Valley, but I'll have to go to Orange County and pick it up and that is going to be a trick. All these long trips!

I'm a hour from Port Hueneme. If the Undine is still on target for 7/25, I'm thinking of taking a half day at work and hop on the motorcycle and see if I can't get close enough to snap a pic of the illusive vessel in port.

It is not arriving on 7/23, it is now arriving on 7/25 per WW; however, the Port Hueneme website indicates 7/23. The general consensus is that the vessel is arriving on 7/25 as it could have been very well caught in Panama, but we'll have to see if anything gives us some further clues over the next few days. Maybe the ship is in overdrive right now going towards Baja?

I can't believe there is no tracking in the Pacific? I went on a bike ride down the Southern Cal coast today. I kept looking at the horizon hoping I'd spy a big white ship heading up North. Wishful thinking, I know. But it would have been cool.

Financed with Penfed on Friday, so the delay will at least give me time to be sure the check arrives in time.

Hello All, My MC is on the boat with all of yours. I have been watching your postings and they have been lots of fun. I am in the same situation as the 2 people who have their mini's coming to Washington, but mine will come home to Portland.
Thanks for all of your tracking-too bad about the couple of days delay coming into the California port..

Looks like Undine posted a weather report, because sailwx.com just updated. She's still down in Central America. But at least we have something to watch. Hopefully the Undine will keep posting her travels. It gives me something to do while I wait.

Thanks for posting that....I had given up checking sailwx! Seems like it's still really far from California.....do you think it will make it in only 4 days?

Guess not, Wallenius website now says 7/26. I guess my hopes of cruising this weekend are out the door.

Sailwx is working and shows 2 hurricanes on the map. Looks like one or both might be trouble for the Undine. Has anyone heard about a work slowdown at the California ports? My husband was telling me he as heard/read about it....

None of this is good news. I ordered my new lightning blue cooper s on May 31st and have been waiting patiently (not really) for it to arrive in Denver, CO. So not only do I have to wait 3 extra days for it to arrive in CA, but then there's the excruciating wait for it to arrive in Colorado.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for it to arrive in time for Minis in the Mountains (Aug 6-10) though.

How long does it take to get from LA to Denver? I ordered mine 6/7/08. I was told it could be 10-15 days once it gets to the VDC at LA then whatever time it takes to get to where it goes by truck, then the dealer has it for several days while they do their prep. I am just hoping to get it before my kids go back to school in Sept.

Just FYI, those articles don't mention Port Hueneme at all, so I wonder if the slow down would affect us. Port Hueneme is 60 miles North of Port of LA. Anyways, I'm more worried about the Tropical storms we're about to go through.

dreegon - I'm driving from LA to Boulder on the 6th, but in my pickup. Too bad I can't deliver your Mini for you.

The Undine better hurry up, the Isolde is right behind it, due on 7/29/08. Maybe that will make the stay at the VDC shorter.

By relative calculations, I would guess the Undine will arrive to PH sometime on Friday afternoon. I think it will steer clear of any storms as the vessel will stay very close to the coast at any time. I notice that PH has not updated its vessel schedule for a few days and still indicates 7/23 - this is truly incorrect.

Both figuratively and literally, WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME BOAT.

Does anyone need a tissue?

Our shipment will not be affected by this potential strike as that would be a couple weeks away and I do believe it may only affect the Long Beach/LA Port. I am unsure whether a vehicle vessel requires the longshoremen.

There are a couple of comments posted on this website about longshoremen taking their mini's for joy rides! Hopefully that is just chatter. I hope there are no problems at the VDC, my husband is probably just telling me this as he knows how excited I am to get my mini!!!

I'm sure it may be chatter, but view this little Youtube posting:

There are many more, and some are brutal. I would suggest if you are spiritual, just pray and you should be fine. Sorry to bring up the paranoia levels...
