New date for the Panama Canal: July 16th instead of July 17th! (per WW schedules website)

 

Wow, that's tomorrow!! Sailwx doesn't seem to be working again.

 

I know...I love sailwx when it's working...very cool stuff. Looks like we'll have to tune in to the canal web-cams tomorrow!

 

I will. I will be home most of the day but there is a concert in the park at 6:00 PM. I remember watching Thumper go through the canal in Octobor/2005. It was really exciting. I find the Panama Canal to be amazing anyway. The waiting period seems to be going rather quickly but then it's not my car.

 

The wait is really a killer. It has been over 42 hours since the last sailwx report... But the good news is that our cars will be at Port Hueneme a week from tomorrow! This is SPLENDID, SPECTACULAR, and GROOVY!!!!

 

Looks like the Undine is scheduled to arrive at the Panama Canal at 1500 on July 16 and leave in the AM on July 17. From the Panama Canal Schedule.

 

By the way, the sailwx.info website is not down....the Undine is just not reporting. I checked the Maersk Wave and it updated in the last few hours.

 

What is the link for the Panama Canal Schedule?

I am not positive but the Undine might be entering the Panama Canal. What do you think? I hope the fog goes away on the other side before she gets there. Cathie

 

Maybe not, it started going the other direction.

 

Where did you see the Undine listed on the schedule. I couldn't find it. I was also nervous when I saw that due to fog, all ships are delayed 72 hours.

 

Thanks for the link all... I don't see the Undine on the link either; however, it would be a good sign because the vessel could have been scheduled earlier. I have a very strong intuitive feeling my motoring advisor knows it already went through Panama because he sent me a note a couple hours ago that it definitely looks like I'll have the MINI before the end of the month!

 

Please say that's the UNDINE in the upper right of this picture! It is from the Miraflores webcam.

If its at Miraflores then its will be sailing in the Pacific tonight, yeah? Already made its stop in Manzanillo? Trying to read the bow in the high res camera but can't quite make it out. Exciting though.

 

It had to be the Undine. The high res picture that would not save - the little helipad on the vessel vaguely did say "Undine!"

This has been a totally cathartic experience. Attached is the last regular res picture.

 

Your eyes must be better than mine. Here are a couple of the hi res shots. I can't make out what it says on the bow or the helipad. There is a "W" on the helipad though.

 

I hate to spoil the party but the Undine has HUGE letters on the side of the ship that say WALLENIUS WILHELMSEN....it would be totally visible in these pics...........sowwy

 

True Markus, but if you google search around for pictures of the Undine, every picture I found the lettering is on the Starboard side. The pic's from the canal were from the Port side. Could be only on the one side?

Are there 2 Undines?? Anyway, it looks like they put logos on both sides of their car carriers....???

 

Above the "W" - I think it says Undine. That was the picture and I swear I have not been under any psychedelic drugs. Just hopeful thinking. By the way, the sailwx website now indicates Undine has departed Manzanillo... I very well could be correct and trying to find a picture of the Undine somewhere. If I am incorrect, I really couldn't help getting in to the excitement of the moment!

On the WW website there are 2 photos of the Undine in Sydney, Australia:

They are only photographed on the starboard side. Also, the Undine was extended about a year ago and they may not have painted the name on the vessel again. Are there any truly recent photos of the vessel?
