Newbie to the NAM Site & Drove on the Race Track!

Hello everyone.

I'm new here but I've had my MC for R56 for just under a year and last weekend I took her out to Watkins Glen International Speedway with a bunch of other MINI's. There were two JCW GP's there as well as many other moded MINI's. It was great I just wish it lasted longer!
We went three laps for the opening day of the season.
Now I'm hooked and want to mod my car like crazy but there aren't many mods out yet for the MC 07. Any suggestions?

Since you're not likely to make much power at all on your NA engine with mods, I'd start with suspension, then go to brakes. Cross/JIC Magic sells an awesome set of coilovers for your car for around $2100. A pad upgrade, along with some SS lines, and better fluid should run around 600 for all 4 corners.

Wait until you drive Watkins Glen at speed instead of on a parade lap. Even in a Cooper, you'll hit 110 or so heading into the busstop.

Have you driven at top speed at Watkins Glen? For what type of event or was it a driving class? Ever taken classes there? I heard they are about $800 for a single day with a one on one instructor. Man I'm so hooked on driving now.

Yup, I've driven Watkins Glen at speed:

Look into the BMWCCA - they have lots of High Performance Driver Education classes where you are out on the track with an instructor in the passenger's seat. Prices are around $200 a day. Although the White Mountain and Boston chapters offers a $100 discount for your first event.
