Hi, I'm so glad I stumbled upon NAM

Any day now, I plan to be the proud new owner of a MINI. I got the fever and the only cure is owning one myself. My wife and I are headed to Charleston SC on Saturday and I could, very likely, driving home by myself, in a MINI.

Wish me luck.

Welcome to NAM, and good luck with the purchase!

Good luck!

Welcome to NAM, and wish you a good buying experience. Looking for any set of options in particular?

Oh, and we love pics. Please post a few when you have them!

We'll see. Cooper S, definitly, undecided on the tranny. Any suggestions for "must have options " or things I could probably do without?

Pictures will follow, shortly after purchase.

Is this a first or second gen MINI? Are you ordering or buying off the lot?? :)

Glad you found NAM, Welcome.

If you go the 07 MCS, you might find a nice unit on the lot. Otherwise, order what you want and enjoy the tracking and the wait. :)

I am an older MINI driver and really enjoy my MCS((a)utomatic)). I enjoy the 6 speed with the paddle shifters. I find the paddles in the mountains are great and when I take a long trip (2 this year, both around 1500-1800 miles), the automatic is great.

Lots of folks love the 6 speed, but I can shift in my classic Alfa's.

I second the front and rear fogs. Not sure how you feel about alarms, but the flashing "heartbeat" light over the tach is cool. I wish I had gotten white turn signals and Xenons. That's about it.

ENJOY!!

Bergie, the fact is that so many people have their own unique and varied preferences that you're only going to get a semi-random sample in this thread. If you're buying one that's in the inventory in Charleston you'll probably have to prioritize as it's not likely they'll have a perfect match on the lot with every single one of your option preferences. Obviously, powerplant, drivetrain, color, etc. will be at the top of your list. Some dealer add-ons are possible and negotiable. But, if you are lucky, you might get close on your high priority options right off the lot.

Here's a few reference threads (among many others) out of the 2nd Gen forum that might help give you a bit of a broader sampling of past experiences with option recommendations and regrets:

Hope you find the perfect MINI for you!
