I've ordered my first MCS!

Hello everyone. My name is Mike and I've just ordered my first Mini Cooper. I got my production number on Friday 11/2 and it's already in production. According to the real people (not the automated system) it should be finished next week and ready for the boat by mid November. I'm really hoping to have it before Christmas. Does anyone know what production week that is (11/5 - 11/9 range)?

I've ordered an Astro Black MCS with a white roof and the white sport stripes. I wanted to get one from the dealer, but I couldn't find the right paint/interior options with the limited slip diff that I decided was mandatory.

After test driving the MCS, I decided to pass on the Corvette I thought I always wanted. I just couldn't believe the fun I had in the mini for half the price and way better gas mileage.

On top of that, I am totally loving the whole Mini sub-culture I've stumbled on. I'm a real car guy and the attitude about driving enjoyment and the personalization-ability have got me very excited.

I can't wait to meet some more mini owners in person. I live in San Diego and I hear there's a big Vegas thing coming up soon. I can't wait.

Welcome to NAM! Yes indeed, AMVIV (A MINI Vacation in Vegas) is March 27-30, 2008. You can book your room now (run a search for AMVIV 5 for info).

There are lots of great MINIs and MINIacs in SoCal, including MINI clubs.

Welcome to NAM Mike!! You'll be diddie boppin around SD with a grin on your face before you know it. I have an older Corvette also but the MINI is much more fun to drive, and a whole lot easier at the gas pump. It's a whole new outlook on driving when you have a MINI.

FANTASTIC COLOR CHOICE!!!! Your MINI will look similar to mine, at least on the outside. Welcome to the nut house! I think you are production week 45 or 46. I was a 39-er. I'm entering my 3rd week of motoring now, only 200 miles left on break in and LOVING every minute of it. People ask me at work, 'did you do anything fun last night' and I just say, 'YEAH! I drove my MINI!'

Welcome to NAM and a great MINI color combination. :)

You will find lots of things to do in SD and some great MINI folks, too.

Enjoy and drive safe.

Welcome to NAM Mike! I have always been on NAM but decided lately to actually sign up for it =\. I never thought I would have gotten over my previous car which I had built from ground up until I drove a MINI! Good choice and that sounds like a nice color combo hope you get it soon.

Thanks everybody for the warm welcome! I'd especially like to thank jeffherbst for that super cool post about tracking your order. Now I can truly obsess over my car's production. According to the Ask Mini people it should finish production on 11/13.

I'm fighting it, but starting to get really excited.
