OrionLTD, what was your OL estimated date? after the boat docked has definitely been the most excruciating period...

 

Oh no! Just emailed my MA (Jarid) and found that he's on vacation until Nov 9th!

Guess the OL Estimated Delivery Date doesn't include planned vacations!

 

Okay guess I have not been paying attention, I did not realize you were from Bothell, of if I did...I forgot.

 

The OL as of right now has my Mini at the VDC. I'm not sure what they think the date would be for delivery. I'm glad to know that the car is actually at the dealer. Due to work schedule, I'm hoping to pick up Friday or Saturday. Of course just hearing from Amanda how great my mini looks makes me want to rush right down there right now!!!!!! But I need to make money to pay for my baby!

This process has been very fast in my opinion. Tracking the boat was fun! I just can't wait to get behind the wheel. I've already ordered my plate.

So happy to report that the dealership (South Bay) called today (Wednesday) and my car was ready....pretty fast work, eh? Picked it up this evening :-)

Lightning Blue/White MCSa with web spokes......love the blue, thought it might be too light compared to my old Indi Blue, but it looks great..can't stop smiling. Bummer I have to work tomorrow

hmm. called today, dealer said that the car is still at VDC and it takes about a week... maybe hes just misinformed or the estimate is way off on the OL... based on my prior experiences with him, he may just be misinformed...

 

Spent over 7 hours at the Spyder dealers today, they are here and I'm returning at 9am to work with the tech in un-crating ours and doing the little bit of
assembly and then the PDI, plan to take delivery Saturday morning at 9am. So time for NAM will be very limited for a the next two days, hope all goes well for your deliveries.

Sorry - this is my first posting here on NAM, so I'm just hoping I'm doing this right...
I have been feeling like a bit of a voyeur for the past few months - I spent many, many hours looking up information before finally ordering my little MINI on August 29th and have spent many, many hours since then checking in on the status of it! It has been so great to be able to drop in here and feel both more connected to the process and not alone in the nearly unbearable anticipation of it all! So - thanks to you all!!
OK - I'm getting rambly, so shall stop soon - just one more thing: I called this morning and my MINI should be in Portland today or tomorrow, so I should be driving the little bumblebee by the end of next week!

 

Wohoo! Congrats and welcome to NAM! I'm assuming your little bumblebee was on Asian Emperor as well? I'm still waiting for my MA to get back from vacation on Nov 9, mine is going to Portland as well so might be on the same truck!

What are the specs of yours?

hmmm i called askMINI and they said that the vehicle is in transit... does that mean its on a truck? or is it just a glitch in the system... i dont remember what it said when it was on the boat, but i believe it was also in transit? anyway, when i called my MA, he wasnt really helpful. It seemed as if he had even less info then i did.

 

Most likey the person you spoke to at ASK MINI is using the "old" data, or just guessing. Once on this side of the pond, ASK MINI has no clue what the status is. The OL will have info, but not always dependable.......that is why I always catuion people upon arriving at the VD, it is if you Mini has fallen into a dark hole and no one knows anything for certain.

 

Mine really fell into a dark dark hole when my MA decided to take his vacation in the most important time!

The anticipation is really killing me! I can only hope the journey from VDC to dealer had no problems and my MINI is sitting in a safe place waiting for me...

 

Have fun tomorrow with the delivery! I'm sure the wait will be worth it, the Spyder looks awesome!! Does it require a motorcycle license or does it consider a car?

However good Spydie is, don't forget about Skeeter and NAM!

 

I feel surprisingly calm

 

interesting... at first the OL said estimated delivery was 11/3.... this was up until around 630pm PST.... now at 12 am PST, the estimated delivery is 11/2... yet it still says at the VDC... i cant stand them toying with my emotions here!

 

In the USA it will be licensed as a motorcycle, but CA has a logic of three wheeled motorcycles no no require the usual motorcycle endorsement. Also Delaware and South Carolina are the same.
This delay in getting it home is now holding up re-scheduling Skeeters spa day down in the LA area.

The VDC had changed Skeeters delivery date 3 times, advancing one or two days each time. When he did arrive it was not on one they had shown, and still today the OL shows a delivery date of 8/15/07.

so did it come earlier or later than what the OL said?

called my MA and hes not in today, so i spoke with someone else... they said that they arent sure if its there or not but there were some new cars dropped off in the past couple days... AHHH im going crazy!! i just want to know if its there or not!! in addition, he said it takes a couple days to go through PDI and he said that may mean a wednesday pickup

 

Sorry..... the date ended up moved to the 15 from the 9th, he arrived the 14th.
