All Aboard the FIGARO - Southampton 10/01/07 Port Hueneme, CA 10/22/07
Looks like sailwx is back online, but there haven't been any updates for Figaro (or for any of the other ships in the area) for awhile. Maybe that will be coming soon now that the site is at least back up.
AIS
That sounds too good to be true... Hmm, either way, I guess I'd better get off my duff and order that sunroof graphic asap!
Oh yeah -and get that big cashier's check...
Going to take a guess, since Figaro has been hanging off of the coast of Baja all day, she may have arrived to early to get a berth at the port. So she may not head
north till morning.
Or......AIS is once again very lagged.
Also AIS can be real strange for this coast, and once he is near the port, she could drop off of the maps. When this happens all one can do is check the WW site to see
when it updates showing she departed the port.

Actually once the Minis arrive at the great VDC, they may as well fall off into a dark hole. My OL is still showing Skeeter at the VDC with an estimated delivery date of 8/15/07.
The OL can be useful at times, and also of no help. Best to keep in contact with your MA, seems the OL data base is not the same used by the dealers/MAs. So it makes it interesting, at times the MA will have the same info, but also can have conflicts. Your MA should be able to see when your MINI has actually cleared the VDC and is awaiting a transport truck. As for the ASK MINI number, it will be of no use, they have no clue waht happens on this side of the pond.

off to the flag maker, has taken 6 weeks to get this point.
On Wednesday I'm taking Skeeter on his first road trip, heading down to the LA area to Octane Guys shop for a professional detailing/training session. Only 362 miles for detailing.

My MA had called and confirmed the first delivery date, then every 24 hours for the next two days it was advanced, and Skeeter arrived on none of the estimated dates.
7:50am
Figaro is making a good speed, she is a bit south of Catalina Island. If she continues at this speed she should be arriving at in port by noonish.
I did some searching well having coffee to see why Figaro did not continue on to port yesterday. The Takayama (WW ship with Kia/Hyunda cars) was in port.
The Washington Highway a KESS ship ( K-Line Europe) is arriving this morning, so there was no space avaialable for Figaro.

Just read both your posts, Tharkun. Wow, that's a LONG drive to get a car detailed.
Sounds like a fun road trip! What kind of roof graphic are you getting designed for Skeeter?
I see Figaro on AIS Live this morning. Definitely made a move from where she was last night. Hard to believe the boat ride is almost over.

That is GREAT! I love the Mini flying carpet.
Editted to say that I think it will look really awesome with your Lightning Blue color.
I kept waffling about whether to put the checkered sunroof graphic on my car and I decided against it for now. I like having light come into the car and I'm afraid it will make it too dark inside. I dunno. And in the PNW getting too hot isn't going to be too much of a problem I wouldn't think.

Then it became a copyright issue, but sine I have changed it from the original, I'm not really concernend about that issue.
I wanted something unique and one of a kind, so think I have managed that, but it is a bit expensive to have a custom graphic made.
I'm going with the solid vinyl not the perf, so will post some pics of how dark it makes the interior.

I'd be really interested to hear about the lighting results. I'm assuming the stock checkered graphic is solid but I don't know for sure. I'm not sure I'd want perforated with all the rain we get here.
