Description:	Allows Apple Ipods to be controlled through the factory radio and steering wheel mounted controls. Does not work if factory CD changer, navigation or satellite radio is installed as it connects through that port on the back of the radio.

Pros:	Integration with OEM system
Cons:	Titles and artists do not display when connected to car

Contrary to the desciption on this site, the adaptor is compatible with the NAV system, at least on an '02 model. Check with your dealer regarding other model years.

Using an iPod safely stored away in the glove box while controlling all functions through the steerring wheel and/or radio panel is sweet. It is very easy to use your personal computer (using iTunes software) to organize your tunes (or audio books) into 5 folders named MINI1 through MINI5 that correspond to the channel selector on your MINI system. (Channel 6 will play the selection in all folders). I currently have a library of 800 songs using up only 10% of the iPod's 60 GB of memory. This renders CD players and changers totally obsolete.

Pros:	Almost limitless song and podcast storage
Cons:	disconnects from time to time, no title display

My radio some times looses connection to the ipod which resides in the glove box. all it takes is a quick unplug and then plug the clip back into the ipod to be back in business.
Love being able to lissen to White Roof Radio and other pod casts while driving.

wish it would display sone title and artist info like the ion does from mp3yourcar.com.

Pros:	Nice integration and charges unit
Cons:	Limited to 5 play lists

I do not like being limited to 5 play lists and much prefer the using the aux plug method. Very Expensive for what you get if you have the dealer install.

Pros:	Cheap is about the best I can say
Cons:	Fails to do what it is sold to do
