Description: Brake caliper stiffening kits

TyrolSport’s revolutionary new Brake Caliper Stiffening bushings prevent the caliper flex inherent in the stock rubber-bushed design. This flex leads to uneven pad wear and rotor deposits under hard usage. An inexpensive upgrade to the stock that should be part of your next brake job. Track tested and mother approved! These are newly developed for the Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S. They are offered for front calipers and back calipers and an availible stainless steel snapring option to replace the black phospate coated steel rings.

Posters Note: Not from TyrolSport web pages.... These are available from other vendors. There is a good thread on this at http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=28782 . Thanks to Andy@RossTech.com for the original post. End Posters Note.

Pros: Easy Instal, Low Price, Excellent Performance
Cons: No dust boot, so you have to re-lube them every now and then.

I got these from TyrolSports lat Feb 2005 and they arrived in about two days. Installation was pretty easy, I did it in an evening after work. The brake feel is both more firm and more controlable. Make sure you use enough high temp lube on the pins, I didn\'t an had to re-lube one. No big deal, takes only a few minutes. Totally my fault!

Anyway, this is one of those not so flashy, no power adders that everyone should do! Even if you have a BBK in front, you can add these to the rear calipers.

Pros: Easy Install. increases feel
Cons: Need to be lubed

I have these on the rear only since I use a BBK for the front. Install was straightforward. Brake feel is increased making it that much easier to modulate the pedal with confidence. The only drawback is they do require some maintenance. The bushings should be lubed at least once a year, more under hard usage such as track days. I lube mine with every rear pad change.

Overall I recommend this product.

Pros: good price, BMW part, overall improvement
Cons: Like Dr. O said, no boot to cover...

Ordered from Tyrolsport for basically the same price. Quality craftsmanship and did both front and backs. This was added while doing a Rotor, Pad, SS Line and Fluid change from OEM's with 56K on them.

Yes, a noticable difference with pedal feel. Living in the colder climate I'll look to relube every 6 months or so (spring/fall) but worth the time for the difference.
