Description: Manufactured in England, GRS' top mount intercooler is a much larger size and it works very well. There have been good data being posted by GRS Motorsport on here, mini2, and webbmotorsport.
Keywords: GRS intercooler

Pros: Good finish, Easy install, works well
Cons: Expensive, some may have diverter issues

I gotta first start off by saying Graham at GRS has been a real sport at helping me. He knows im not the original purchaser of the item and still willing to give me a hand.

To start, i have a deformed diverter, and some fitment issues with the diverter, which maybe an issue, but the intercooler itself fits like a glove, albeit a tight fit into the mini\'s hood. I can say that the intercooler is very well finished.

I have not had much chance to test out in hot weather, but so far, the engine feels a bit more responsive, even after a long drive. Opening the hood after a long drive also shows the intercooler surface is no longer searing hot after a long drive, but rather a bit warm. I did notice a very small pressure drop at idle when the car is rolling (used to be 0.8 vaccum, now is at 0.9 vaccum).

I won\'t be able to test out it\'s real capacity until summer when i can use both intercooler at similar temperature and similar conditions. So far, seat of the pants shows minor gains, or I should say I lose less horsepower due to heat.

Pros: Easy install, Full color Instructions
Cons: Cost

This mod is one that I’ve been looking at for a long time. I also looked at the other Intercoolers on the market and decided on the GRS. This Intercooler went in without any issues and fits PERFECTLY. Thats right it fits snug and just in place where it should be. Install took me just over an hour to complete. This product is one of only 2 I have ever bought that came with color instructions.

So far I have noticed a bit more power in the lowers RPMS. Around 2-3k RPM there seems to be more power. Other then that its hard to tell so far.

Pros: Good Quality, Good Flow Number.
Cons: need remove intercooler to change speak plugs

I probably will go M7 DIFC or Alta v2 for about the same price.

Pros: Less Leakage, more attractive, better interior scoop, built in air scoop
Cons: some have reported weld failures

This Intercooler blows the standard one into the dust, the pressure hold over stock is immense.

The built in air scoop half way up the intercooler means the front of the intercooler also gets a flow of air over it, rather than it all ramming into the back.

The other aspect is the scoop 'extenders' one that replaces the bonnet liner to make the hole bigger, the second bridges the gap that the standard scoop leaves from the end of the scoop to the beginning of the intercooler.
