Pros:

Feel, looks, shorter and weight helps notchy shifting
|
|
Cons:
|
A bit pricey
|

Hard product to describe, but once you own one you\'ll know why these shift knobs are special. Besides looking good, the extra weight helps lessen the notchy shift feel typical of BMW\'s. One inch shorter lessens throw.
The other part is the feel. Sensual, almost x-rated.
Doug Whalen is a one-man company. Good guy. Always nice to deal with the ittle guy who puts out an unusual and very nice product.

I\'m very please with my purchase. It really added to the chromed interior of my Mini. The look and feel of the knob really works for me.
I had a design milled into mine for an additional fee.

Today the Wahlen Shift Machine arrived... and I am completely blown away at how much your product changed the feel and handling of my Mini. I just can\'t believe it! Utterly fantastic! Adding Wahlen to the stock shifter is right up there (maybe higher) with the other mods I\'ve made. A beautiful product... I just can say enough. Rarely am I inclinded to post a review... but this product is well worth the price. It adds to the beauty of the interiour of my Mini... plus the weight is just perfect to make shifting feel more fun! It\'s like I am driving a totally new car. Thanks Greg Wahlen!

I don't know why I don't see more MINI's with Doug's product. Even at the dealer, they loved mine, but had never heard of them. Great stuff. Thanks Doug!

I've had two of Doug's Shift Machines on my R53. One of them an off the self model and the other custom engraved. Doug was great to work with when creating the custom and would not settle for it being any less then perfect. I'm very happy both with the product and the company. Highly Recommended.

I got the msfitoy design delrin shift knob. For the first 30 minutes I didn't like it... now I am in love. The delrin is great because of it's heat and feel properties. The collar that doug uses on his knobs is quite awesome. Great product and the price is right about what it should be for an original product and hands on customer service. I will be purchasing more items from him.

I've done business with Doug a few times now- a knob for me, one for my fiancee and other knobs for customers. He has always given me a fantastic product with even better customer service.
Add to all that the fact he donates knobs for our charity fundraiser each year.... Last year one was sold for almost $500!!
Great guy, fantastic service, great product!
(I cannot say enough about him!)

Doug is a great guy to work with. If your looking to get a custom design on your knob he wont lie to you if he thinks its to complicated. I sent him my picture that I wonted on the knob and he had the job done and in my hand within a week. The difference in the firmness of shifting is almost x-rated. If your looking for a great shift knob go to Whalen. There is nothing better.

I had Doug do up a custom knob for a good friend of mine's R56 JCW. I sent him some ideas of what I was looking to do and he replied back with designs already drafted.
Not only was the finished product absolutely excellent, but he knew EXACTLY what I was looking to achieve only with a brief text description. His service goes far beyond expectations, and I will most definitely be having him do some more for me in the future!

Not cheap and worth ever penny. Really gives the knob a nice feel and a great look. May be just imagination but really gives the shifts a crisp feel.
