This is the least expensive exhaust mod I've come across. I didn't come up with this, I found it on this web site. There is quite a weight savings, but you have the stock muffler and the stock exhaust tubing diameter.

Pros:
Low cost, stock look.
Cons:
Still have stock muffler and exhaust tube diameter.
I had mine done at a local exhaust shop that I\'ve used for other cars. They did an excellent job. You won\'t belive how heavy the resonator is, and all that is gone. While this probably isn\'t as good as a full aftermarket exhaust system, the price can\'t be beat!

Pros:
excellent (purchased from MyMiniparts.com)
Cons:
none
For so little money its hard to not try it!
Not sure about being too loud - try this first! If it doesn\'t give you what you want then do a complete replacement system and sell your One-ball component. The sound is good without being over the top - normal driving bearly noticeable, hop on the throttle and you\'ve got sport exhaust notes.
part 125.00 + 35 install
Dyno (one ball plus free flow aircleaner show 9hp gain (figure 5hp are from aircleaner).
For those who want max bang for the buck - one-ball exhaust, pulley and aircleaner - you can\'t find cheaper ponies!!!

Pros:
cheaper than full catback system, deeper & slightly louder sound than stock
Cons:
non of the ohhhs-ahhhs of installing a $700 cat back...
paid $130 here on Hawaii & 1.5hrs... took me as a walkin & got busy on it... chopped it... put in a 90deg elbow..aligned & tac welded.. dropped the cat back & battery cover, finished the weld... put it back up...
sounds like the reg system.. just a little more louder... gurgling noise is louder, more frequent, and a bit sharper...
plus I kinda wanted the elbow to be welded to keep the whole system solid.. not the clamped version mymini sells...

Pros:
sounds cool
Cons:
nothing or a gain
its a simple cheap mod , but it did next to nothing for a HP gain. you will end up doing a full cat back system in the end if you do more than just exhaust mods on the car.

Pros:
Just the right amount louder, more pronounced burble
Cons:
None I can think of
The only reason I waited was because it was hard to find someone to do it. For the price, it is a great mod. I have no regrets ever. I love the sound.

Did the one-ball mod on my '03 some time ago. In the pusuit of more power, I changed the pipes to 2.5" SS all the way and added an OBX header and 2.5" catalytic converter. It's got great sound for such a relatively cheap and simple mod.
