Pros: Very low cost, easy to install.
Cons: It\'s HOT air, not COLD!

I came across this on here on NAM, and went for it. For the price, it\'s an excellent mod. I reccomend this for anyone on a budget.

Pros: Ingenious, cheap, efficient
Cons: ghetto looking (opinion), cotton = crap filtering

I would add that Macandcheese was essential to the conception of the project (I believe he came up with it and was the first to buy the filter for this purpose, and gave it to andy for testing).

Sounds great. As with all intakes, there is a slight wispy high pitched noise at certain rpm\'s. Otherwise, it sounds GREAT, is CHEAP, performs just as well or better than any intake under $300 (arguably, better than all), and is perfect for that first safe mod. It also helps you to learn to work under the hood, take things apart, swear like you\'ve never swore before (only for those of the diminished brain capacity, such as myself), and there is very low risk.

I would place this in the category of one of those essential must try mods. It just happens you can buy this filter for very cheap and free shipping at ajusa.com. go check it, fools!

Oh, and before i forget. I would wait until the foam version is out if you like better filtering capability. Troll around on the drivetrain forum \"Operation HAI\" for info.

Pros: Cheap, Easy to Install, Bang for the Buck
Cons: Not pretty, You'll want to move up at some point

It's a great product, easy to install, and a great bang for the buck item. However, it isn't pretty and at some point in the whole modding path, you'll want to move up to a better intake. The $35 or so that you spent on this intake could've been spent on a better intake and you could've saved $35+shipping. If you can be happy with the HAI, it's great. If you're not sure, just buy one of the expensive ones. They're so expensive that you won't want to sell. Anyways, I'm looking at the Webb HDI and the M7 AGS.

Pros:
Cons:

warm air actually decreases HP, so what's the use of this again?

Pros: CHEAP! The sound is amazing.
Cons: You can't tell people that you spent a lot of money on your intake.

As far as I'm concerned, an intake is a sound mod. The best intakes claim 5hp, which isn't worth $200-$250 to me. An intake will not make your car faster. What the HAI does is make the car feel and sound faster. It's fantastic. And cheap.

I noticed a slight increase in throttle response, likely due to the decreased distance air now travels to the engine. The real party piece is the sound; the supercharger whine is much more pronounced to the point that redline sounds like someone screaming. Again, I love this.

It may look cheap or ghetto, but you can't see the engine when you're driving, so who cares. If you're on the fence about it, spend the $40 and try it out. Installation is simple and the stock intake can be reinstalled in 15 minutes if you don't like it.

I will never spend $200 on a real intake. The HAI does the same thing for less than a quarter of the price. Do it!
