Description: Lately we have seen several stock Crank Pullies on the 02-06 Cooper S. Now there is a new choice rather than the OEM one that failed, and this isn't a lightweight Aluminum pulley that has NO dampening, so this won't wear out your crank bearings. Helping your engine last.
This Super Damper designed a 5.5” damper -- Part # 917992 -- for the Mini Cooper standard and S engines. This new design is a direct replacement for the stock OEM Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S damper from 2001 through 2006. The heart of this unit is the tried and true “damper within a damper” design that has put ATI ahead of the rest. The outer shell has been machined to allow OEM serpentine belt locations, and includes laser-etched timing marks.

Eliminates torsional crankshaft vibrations
Exceeds SFI 18.1 specs
Laser etched 360° timing marks
Black zinc chromate finished

Pros: lighter than stock, saved my butt when my stock one fel off.
Cons: none so far, other than $

ATI is well known in the drag industry, and this is sure to hold up for the life of the car unlike the stock pulley. Its several pounds lighter than my stock pulley to, allowing the car to rev a little faster.

Pros: ATI Crank Pulley is amazing
Cons: 0

Recently my Stock Crank Pulley went out and took the belt tensioner with it


Way then installed the ATI Crank Pulley and this thing is amazing.
great product, great shop. no other shop touches my car.

Pros: It is 1 piece and very unlikely to come apart. It also comes with an Installation tool!
Cons: As always anything worth while cost more than you want to pay but is nearly the same price as stock so worth it!

I have never had anything come with instructions this complete. I wrote to the company and the person that wrote up the instructions "Actually" installed one on a friends Mini before writing up the How To! Too bad that ATI did not make the rest of the Mini!
