supersize

Description: The DDM MINI Cooper S Cold Air Intake works by sealing a UNI dual stage filter inside a stainless steel enclosed box. The unique design keeps engine heat from getting to the filter, while the stainless steel gives the intake the highest resistance to heat transfer when compared to other intakes on the market. The UNI dual stage foam filter can be re-used and re-oiled and provides a lifetime of service on your MINI. The filter is oversized to give plenty of filtering capacity without sacrificing air flow on the supercharged MINI S. The DDM intake is unique, providing the enclosed filter with pressurized, cold air from the cowl area beneath the windshield, without requiring you to cut any of your factory parts, allowing your car to be returned completely to stock if needed. With simple hand tools the intake can quickly be installed on your car, allowing you more time to go enjoy the ride! Available in Stainless & Black powder coat.

Pros: Install was easy, it sounds great!
Cons: tough to connect to stock pipe but do-able, slight whistle

I like it but it does have a slight whistle in the low to mid range. Perhaps it is not installed exactly correct but I think it is. Sounds great at WOT

Pros: build quality, enclosed box design, performance
Cons: some fitment/flexing (dont think its uncommon with all intakes)

this is an excellent product, though it had one hitch installing, the stock intake tube to the throttle body is tough to get on, but it does eventually with some heat go on. After considering all other options i went with this for the design and less noticeable look in the engine bay(black box).

Pros: easy to install, finish looks great
Cons: tight fitting hose

quick to install, really addicted to hearing the SC pulley spooling up, and everytime i get under the bonnet and see it, i smile. the hose was a tight fit and took some heating up and sliding on with a flathead. and even after cleaning the oil from the inside of the filter, it kept slipping off the mouth of the box when i tightened it. i did purchase a very thin stetchy rubber sleeve from the parts store and put that on and it gripped like a champ.
