Description: The R56 Race Intake System (RIS). The intake comes in two parts, the RAS or Ram Air Scoop which makes use of the non functional hood scoop that was just waiting to be used as an intake source, and the DDMWorks PFB or Pressurized Filter Box. With the complete race system in place, your MINI’s filter is washed with cool pressurized ambient air coming in from the front of the car. The whole system working together insures improved throttle response and maximum power consistently for your MINI. This intake uses a K&N air filter.

We have this intake installed on our R56 Demo car "Sputnik" so if you were at the Dragon may you saw or even better experienced a ride with the RIS.

Pros: you get to HEAR your turbo with this!
Cons: none :)

Wednesday got her CAI at the Dragon and it made a huge difference in her total sound and her response! She acts like a real turbo now! :D

Pros: Ease of installation, looks great, works as advertised, makes scoop functional on the R56
Cons: None

GREAT product! Very well designed and thought out! It's like driving around with the sport button half-way on when it's not. Driving with the sport button on and this mod is incredible!

Pros:
Cons: Chaffing on engine components

From pictures I have seen there is chaffing on thd duct coming from the airbox to intercooler and on strut brace. May not be a problem in short term, but there is too much clutter in a small engine area, can't be good for venting heat off the intercooler.

Pros: great - 10 deg cooler air when car is moving
Cons: had to modify box to allow fit of M7 brace

Watching the intake air temp drop when the car is moving is amazing - it really cools down the air to the turbo and has given me better gas mileage on the highway - only a couple, but every little bit counts
