The 19.5mm Helix/RDR Adjustable Rear Sway Bar will dramatically alter the handling on Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper "S" models from a moderately under-steering vehicle to one that will exhibit neutral to over-steering characteristics. The performance will be more pronounced on the Mini than the Mini "S," as the Mini "S" uses a larger stock rear bar than the standard Mini.
The outboard mounting hole (closest to the bar end) is approximately 35% stiffer than the stock "S" rear bar. This setting is the best choice for improved street handling with occasional aggressive cornering. The middle-mounting hole is the best choice for drivers who corner aggressively most of the time. The third mounting hole should be reserved for autocross and track events.

Pros:
quality bar / fit & vendor service was excellent (MyMini)
Cons:
none so far
As many have said the Rear Sway Bar makes an improved noticeable difference and they are right. The car handling characteristics have changed for the better. Oversteer is gone and feels more planted on the road.
I picked up the RDR 19mm bar from Mymini this moring (4-15-05) and had it installed on my 03 MCS. Install took about an hour.
Installer comments - he has done a bunch of rear sway bars on Cooper\'s and that this is one of the nicest fitting bars. He also felt that the 19mm was most approriate unless you\'ve modified the entire suspension, gone to wider tires and plan on attending SCCA events.
All I can say is that - I\'m happy.

Pros:
3 position adjustable and larger than stock
Cons:
not the stiffest bar around
This is a good bar but not what I expected. It seems it has been made in more than 1 size. I was told it was 22mm but mine is 13/16" (20.5mm) and it appears to have been made in yet a smaller size as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this bar to someone if they KNEW it was 22mm. As it is I will be getting a stiffer bar for autocrossing, either the H-Sport comp. bar, the RSpeed 22mm forged 4140 bar or the WMS extreme bar.
