Description: Helix/RDR has come up with the simplest solution for the hard-core enthusiast and weekend warriors: their CNC machined camber plates. These top-quality camber plates are hard coat annodized aircraft quality aluminum, with fully captured polyurithane bearings. They have been track tested for durability as well as driven daily in the north woods of Wisconsin. By having just camber adjustment, and not caster, they allow the MINI enthusiast to drive daily with stock camber settings, and then easily adjust the suspension to full negative camber at the track or autocross. When the event is over, the suspension can be re-adjusted to stock without getting an alignment.

Pros: easy to install and adjust
Cons: none so far

This camber kit should be as easy as it gets. No problem with installation. Installed with Bilstein PSS9 coil overs. The max negative camber available is about 2 1/2 degrees then top of coil hits inner fender. Other coil overs might give more camber. This kit gives you camber only, no caster adjustment. When you dial in 2+ degrees negative on Mini S you get a big change in Toe-in, almost 1/2 inch which needs to be adjusted for competition.

Pros: Works as advertised, durable as all heck
Cons: adjustment sometimes a PITA, raises front-end.

I got a set of these camber plates used off of the NAM marketplace for cheap, and have been very satisfied with them. They work as advertised. Like the previous reviewer, my initial alignment after the install, I was able to achieve -2.2 degrees of camber. And there is a little bit more room. (Using lowering springs on this end.)

Three notes:

* the plates are very durable and will probably outlast most other components on the car. But the alignment shop was able to nick them up pretty nicely, lowering resale value.

* Changing camber requires jacking up the wheel, loosening the two top bolts, and then pushing on the strut assembly in the wheel well. The problem comes with the top metal piece getting stuck on the grooves of the plate, making the "sliding" bit harder than need be. It'd be nice to have a friend help here. Not really a failure with the plate though, imho

* The generation I have raises my front end, noticeably. My plates look identical to those pictured in this review. I don't know whether they've changed the product since. (Mine are a few years old apparently.) The height is markedly higher, on the scale of 1/4" I believe. When using only lowering springs, this means a car that looks slightly wonky. And if you're using coilovers, this means cutting into suspension travel to level things out. Not ideal.

Lowering aside, I'd recommend these babies, especially if you find a deal.
