Description: The Pilo Racing Rear Stress bar allows for normal operation of rear seat. It will also allow you to apply a preload to the rear of the Chassis. According to Pilo Racing this bar helps to stabilize and reduce flex at the rear of the car under heavy stress. As the rear of the car does not have as much horizontal stabilization as the front, over time, it will begin to flex. The Pilo Racing Rear Stress Bar will minimize this effect and keep the MINI tight in the corners.

The stress bar is made out of powder coated steel seat/stress bar brackets, and a polished ovalized aluminum bar.

Pros: takes a little understeer out, looks great
Cons: none other than puts limits on cargo, but can be removed easily

It took about 15 minutes to install. Looks great and is a great little mod for about $100.00

Pros: cheap, and it stiffens things up
Cons: can be a pain if you want to put things in the back

I ordered this months before i took delivery of my car. I installed in about 2 weeks after i got the car, and emidiatly felt a differnce in turn in. Alot of people claim it is placebo effect, but i started pushing the car to the limit as soon as i got it, in order to know its boundries (first FWD car). I had a series of tests i had set up to grade my suspension upgrades, as i knew the car would get alot of them. They invovled steering input required, speed on certain curves excetera. After the installation, i could saw back and forth on the wheel faster than i could before, and it would use less of the lane to change direction and scrub the tires less than it did without it. I have now had it installed for almost 2 years, and still love it. I would recomend carrying the hex key and wrnech required to remove it, incase you need to put something in the back, but onse the brakets are installed, it only takes a minute to remove or install the bar to gain the access.
