The TSW Damper is one of the best BANG for your buck MODS on the market. Not only does it save wear and tear on motor mounts it lays the power you have to the road like you have never felt in your MINI before. A True Do It Yourself Mod.
The TSW engine damper kit keeps the engine from rocking fore and aft as it applies power to the wheels. This motion stores and releases energy in the drivetrain in the form of uncontrolled pulses, or "whips".
This drivetrain lash causes harshness in the drivetrain, reduces traction, tears up engine mounts and stresses the engine and transaxle. The engine damper restricts the rocking motion of the engine while adding minimal vibration to the car, unlike engine mount inserts or urethane mounts.
MINI fanatics will IMMEDIATELY notice the difference in throttle response and shifting.
Kit includes bombproof brackets - no mounting to wimpy sheet metal here! And, the damper is mounted where it can be easily serviced and away from direct engine heat.
NOTE - Installing an ETD kit may add NVH into your cabin, regardless of what we have done to minimize the effect. If you are sensitive to NVH, you may wish to reconsider installing this or any other ETD solution. AXC Note: with the top mount you can remove the damper at will without removing the brackets allowing you to enjoy it at the AutoX or Track and remove for daily driving. Not sure you will want to after you enjoy the new power you find.

Great product. Minimizes rocking of motor during high rpm acceleration to allow for better shifting. Car feels more solid and no added vibration noticed at idle with new version of the damper.

Pros:
no harsh engine rocking
Cons:
none
This is a great product, I use to cringe when i would feel the engine whip during my first to second gear redline shift. With this installed, there is no rocking. The car feels like it is putting more power to the wheels also. I have not felt any increase in NVH either! Highly recommended.

Grat Product. Really holds the engine still. I have Poly Engine mounts in addition to the TSW Damper w/ poly bushings. I love it!

Pros:
smoother power application and increased control in corners
Cons:

Everyone with an R53 learns that a S/C pulley is the best bang-for-the-buck mod. Then we move onto a CAI. Some continue on to an exhaust seeking more power. For control we buy lighter wheels, dump the run-flats and install a swaybar. Some do springs, shocks and even coilovers. Well, this mod falls into both categories. Have you experienced the uncomfortable drivetrain whip that occurs when hitting the coners hard. First you must decelerate before the corner forcing the drivetrain to relax or even load in the negative if your using compression braking into the corner. Then as you find the apex and accelerate out of the corner the drivetrain twists in it's mounts to the positive extreme. Slam. Not Good. While at the Dragon this past April I had Way, http://waymotorworks.com/home.php, install one on a whim. Then I went out on NC 28 and the dragon to test it out. Wow... what a huge difference in control in the corners. Smoother in, Smoother and stronger out. An amazing difference. Before you worry about getting every last bit of HP out of your MINI. Or, plan your mods to get that last smidge of handling prowess, Learn to use what you already have (almost). Install this Damper and learn what "smooth in the corners" can really mean. Truly a great Bang-for-the-buck mod.

Pros:
Best bang for the buck, helps shifting and cars feel
Cons:
none
Best damn bang for the buck out there. Easy to install, looks great, is inexpensive what else do you need? I had other dampners that flat out sucked and did nothing. This is the only one that not only works but it works well.
