Description:

The FlexPod Modular Gauge Pod from Craven Speed is an attractive, and inexpensive way to mount your gauges.
Nice styling and compatible with all popular gauges, including native support for 52mm(2") Gauges--no hassling with unsightly rubber booties!
In keeping with the styling of the original Mini Cooper, BMW engineers decided to leave out some very important, yet vital information from the console. Now, here's your chance to break with tradition.
Adjustable for height and each pod cup is removable.
Made from billet, 6061, anodized black, and uses factory holes for mounting(mounts to the top of the steering column using the same mounting holes as the tach). This kit fits MINI Cooper and Cooper S models without navigation or chrono.
There are several packages available, including iPod Nano Cradle, Four(!) 52mm Gauge Cup version, 60mm Cup version, etc. There is also a version available for Minis with Navigation or Chrono packages. Guages not included.
Shown: Flexpod Fixture plus 2 52mm(2") gauge cups

I have two 2-1/16 gauges mounted (electric oil pressure, electric coolant temp). The flexpod was relatively easy to install - just pull the screws holding down the tach, slip the pod bracket in place, and put the furnished new screws in place (they're just enough longer that they'll accommodate the extra depth of the bracket). I had trouble getting one threaded, but nothing serious.
Because I have a 2004 "S", the steering wheel is only tilt-adjustable - you can't move it toward the driver. Because the AutoMeter gauges I used were pretty deep, the wires feeding them needed to be bent very sharply right after their connection to the back of the gauges. Even then, there wasn't enough room between the back of the pods and the dash for the wires - I had to rotate the pods all the way to the bottom position in order for the wires to have enough room to exit the back of the gauge and feed down the steering column to the firewall. In addition, I also slid the gauges forward in the pods about 1/4 inch. Everything worked out OK, but there was a lot of twiddling and minor adjustment in the process of finding it all out.
Overall I'm happier with the Craven than I would be with the other products I've seen installed, simply because I have a clear view of the entire gauge face; the other products seem to place the gauges just enough higher that the steering wheel obscures a portion of the face and I have to move my head a bit to see it all.
