Description: The ALTA Performance™ lightened crank pulley for the MINI Cooper and is engineered to reduce rotating mass, increasing horsepower and torque.

Made from 6061T6 aluminum and weighing in at .9 lbs, the ALTA pulley™ is more then 6.2 lbs lighter then the stock crank pulley. The ALTA pulley is not under driven and will not affect the life of your engine. The pulley is a redesigned, lighter rendering of the stock crank pulley.

The ALTA Performance™ pulley achieves power and performance by reducing the rotating mass of the crank assembly.

That reduction is effectively the same as removing 100 pounds of weight from your vehicle. The ALTA Performance™ pulley will not wear out engine bearings or the oil pump, and will not add any additional vibration or noise.

Aftermarket, under driven, pulleys are prone to charging and drivability problems from being excessively under driven. The ALTA Performance™ lightened crank pulley will have no effect on your cars charging system.

Choose one of our over driven crank pulleys and increase your boost levels at the same time. Our 2% & 3% pulleys will artificially change your supercharger size by 2%& 3% too! Have you been thinking of exchanging your supercharger pulley for a large one? If you are purchasing a lightened crank pulley then get one of our oversized pulleys and increase your boost at the same time.

Ex. If you have a 15% pulley on you MINI now, you can add our 2% over driven crank pulley and make you 15% pulley act like a 17% pulley.

Pros: increased mpg, freer revving
Cons: none, at time of writing.

I have now had the lightweight crank pulley installed for three weeks, and I am quite pleased with what the product as done. The engine definately revs a little quicker, which is what I installed it for, but an unexpected bonus (that only makes sense) is my OBC now reports average fuel consumption of 26.4mpg, up from 25.9 pre-install. Though installation was easy, removing the stock pulley was a definate bugger.

Pros: lightweight
Cons: removing the stock unit

I installed a +3% on top of my 15% pulley but really didn't notice any difference. I had trouble with belts slipping and eventually swapped it back. In all fairness I didn't do the alt. pulley that is now advised.

Pros: Motor Brought back to life
Cons: ....haven't noticed any so far...

I have had a gen 1 alta 15% sc pulley for 4 years now and decided my mini needed a little pick me up. having 75k miles the motor definitely felt like it was starting to lose some of its umph.. so about a year ago I installed the alta 2% oversized crank pully. running higher boost could be the reason but my motor feels like its running around on a 24 oz. Rock Star again. I have not noticed any problems with the motor, running an "unbalanced crank pull" like everyone was warning me about, and I am thouroughly satisfied with this relatively cheap mod. Took 40 min to install... Although I have been told I am mechanically inclined. (e.g. I installed my own clutch, diff, and flywheel)

Pros: quicker revs, more boost, better throttle response
Cons: none really

i also have a 15% super charger pulley installed, it rocked so i slapped on the 2% crank pulley and it bumped me from 14~15max psi to 17~18max psi, revvs a little quick and throttle response is quite a bit better! i do notice that my a/c gets colder a little bit faster due to the oversized pulley but i live in houston so thats nice. there is a little bit of a vibration at idle but nothing severe and i do notice a little bit of a metal-on-metal sound most likely due to my installation and nothing with the pulley

pretty sweet!
