Description:
The OBX Catback Exhaust system is not a true CatBack for it uses a portion of the stock exhaust tubing. The system is a copy of the Supersprint (SS) system but sells for 299.00. The system is nicely finished with a great set of tips. Since its a copy of SS it will accept any of the 4 tips offered fron SS. Overall installation was easy for the system comes in numerous pieces allowing lots of tweaking to get everything in the right place. Mufflers tuck up high and are not visible. The conector piece to attach the system to the stock pipe was the wrong size and required the "Midas" touch to work properly. Comes with basic cheapy clamps.
Sound - the system is on the loud side. Deep tone that continally grows louder as you reach redline. Under 4,000 rpm its not very loud but above 5,000 rpm you got a race car. Highway driving 5th & 6th its very quiet. No drone or negatives inside the car.
System sound wise is not for everybody but for those that want a sports exhaust note - its a viable option, especially considering the price.

Pros:
price and overall quality
Cons:
not a true or full catback
I've had it for a while now (and the OBX header as well) - and no regrets.
I found it loud at first but have to say that it has mellowed a bit over time. Highway cruising has never been an issue - not loud and no drone whatsoever.
I took this approach from OBX you get the header and exhaust at the price of others just catback system. I find it hard that this combo does not outperform just a catback system.
Ideally suited for those on a budget.

The system itself looks good, except for some of the welds. They were not the best, but looked sound. I tried to install it myself but realized that the "cat-back" is actually an "axle-back". I had to take it to a shop who cut out my stock exhaust center pipe. They had some trouble getting it to align, but it came out allright. It does sit a little off center in the tips, but sounds great. No drone at highway speeds, but you can tell a slight increase in volume.
For the price I would recommend it but for those who can't stand imperfection, this isn't the exhaust for you.
