Our Shop
We are based in beautiful Littleton, Colorado. Our shop is a full service facility strictly for MINI and Elise owners! The 2800 square foot facility includes our office space, our customer area, our shipping department, the inventory storage, and our workshop. The shop has been the home of many MINI project cars, a few Elises, and we have had cars shipped from all over he world for specific work. Not too far from the shop is the test track, an SCCA approved road course, where we do development to make sure the products we offer are up to standard.
We install all of our performance parts on site, and would be happy to help you with any installations you may need. If you are in the area, stop by to see us - you may even get a game of fooseball out of it!
Research and Design
Webb Motorsports has been, and continues to be, involved in the development of numerous MINI/Lotus aftermarket products with several manufacturers. We use an extensive testing process to develop these products through a proven regimen of track time, autocross, dyno time, and road driving.
The steps taken to develop a product depend on the type of product we are bringing to market. For instance, a motor enhancement will first be tuned on the dyno, then taken to the track to monitor real time data including inlet temp, oil temp, boost pressure, coolant temp, fuel trim, and several other parameters based on the part. We also do endurance testing, both cold and hot weather testing, and maintain data collaboration with several engineers related to the specific discipline. We then drive the car with the new item on the street, looking for any "teething" problems before sending it to the customer. A suspension item goes through rigorous track development as well as street and autocross driving. We of course then check for ease of installation, and make changes accordingly and constantly during the development process.
Some of the products we have directly or jointly developed for other companies include: the H-Sport swaybar, springs, and camber plate set, the Milltek Quick Fit cat-back exhaust, the Magnaflow exhaust, the Alta air intake, pulley, intercooler, and short shifter, the Unichip and Powerchip ECU programs, the UUC brake kit, AP brake kit and Leda coilover kits. We are also currently involved in the development of new products from ForcedFed, Unichip, M7, Alta and others.
In addition to the ongoing collaboration effort with many of the current MINI/Lotus parts manufacturers, Webb Motorsports also continues to develop our own line of products. These are the best in the industry, and are put through the same test and development processes used to shake down all products offered through Webb Motorsports. These include our Camber Plates (developed in conjunction with Perfect Power), Performance Cylinder Head, Big Bore Throttle Body, Performance Intake Manifold and Intercooler Runners, Swaybar Droplinks, Front Mount Intercooler and some brand new Lotus and MINI products yet to be announced.
The involvement of Webb Motorsports with multiple manufacturers and a test regime of track, autocross, dyno, and street time allows us to not only bring you the best products on the market, but provide the best product support and knowledge in the industry.
About Us
Webb Motorsports was established in November, 2002 to determine and provide the
best available MINI aftermarket products with performance in mind. We realize that each MINI owner may have different goals for their car, so we have tested several different product lines to determine what each item's strengths are. This allows us to build systems specifically designed to meet the customer's needs. In May of 2005, we added the Lotus Elise to the line up, and continue to apply the same philosophy to the Elise products.
The Owner of Webb Motorsports is Randy Webb. Randy started in the automotive industry at the age of 14 as a "petroleum transfer engineer" - he pumped gas - at the local British car shop. Eventually, he became an apprentice mechanic in the small northern New Jersey town, and learned to despise Lucas electrics. A customer who owned a Triumph and a 1962 Porsche 356B Super 90 brought the Porsche into the shop one day to have some work done, and Randy fell in love with German engineering that very day.
From there, Randy decided to pursue a job with a Porsche only shop. He started with Doug Arnao at Vehicle Craft Inc. and was soon recommended for a position with Promotion Motorsports, owned by Peter Dawe (Mark Donanhue's mechanic from the glory days of CanAm). After learning an immense amount about the hot rodding capacity that Porsches contain, Randy was offered a job with Black Forest Racing in south Florida. It was here that he became a true fabricator, working as a crew member, and racing himself, in all forms of Porsche motorsport - SCCA GT-2, GT-3, Vintage, EP, ITA, and IMSA.
Then Randy discovered flying, and started researching different Universities. The discipline that came from being slightly "older" than his other fellow students allowed him to graduate Magna cum Laude, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the foremost school in Aeronautical Engineering and Aviation related disciplines, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science. While he was in school, Randy kept a small side business working on Porsches in the Daytona area.
Randy was a pilot for United Airlines until January 2003, and is now fully dedicated to the MINI. After the release of the new MINI, Randy found the car he had always dreamed would be made; the cheeky styling of a British car combined with the incredible engineering of the Germans. He sold his faithful 914-6 (with a Carrera engine he had shoehorned into it) and bought a Chili Red MINI Cooper S.
Of course, no other car comes closer in design to Randy's first love (the 914) than the Lotus Elise. Sure it is still British, but what a wonderful car! After the long wait from the dealership, Webb Motorsports finally procured an Elise to develop a new line of Lotus parts. While this doesn?t replace the MINI in Randy?s heart, it certainly holds a special place.
Since the start of Webb Motorsports, Randy has begun a pilgrimage to help MINI owners in their quest for power by visiting cities across the country to do what have become affectionately known as "pulley parties". To date, Randy has done more supercharger pulley installations than any other tuner in the world - over 580 and counting. He has been to West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Cincinatti, Columbus, Hartford, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Rockford, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Buffalo, Charlotte, Richmond, Chicago, Providence, Washington DC, Portland, St. Louis, Phoenix and Detroit, and continues to visit more cities around the country.
Webb Motorsports is happy to provide you with the experience and knowledge Randy has gathered from his eclectic and colorful past.
Hours
We are open by appointment just about anytime we are in town. There are also shop hours of 9:30 to 5:30, Mountain Time.
There are often times we are out in the MINI communtiy - events like MINI Meet West, MINI Vacation in Vegas, SCCA Solo Nationals, or at one of the many "Pulley Parties" we do across the country. Feel free to stop by and ask questions.

I've had 3 encounters with WMS. 2 at pulley parties where I had Randy Webb of WMS install performance parts on my car. As well as a online order for a Intercooler. All 3 times I was impressed and amazed at the customer service put forth by the sales staff and Randy of WMS.
I reccomend WMS to everyone with a MINI!!

My first Mods - Pulley and WMS HDI - done last Saturday at a Pulley Party. I'm very impressed with all aspects of the experience - there's no doubt Randy will get more of my money.

Bought pulley and rented pulley remover tool ($90 refundable deposit). Good product. When he recieved his tool back, I waited a little less than a month to recieve my deposit back after many unanswered calls and emails. At first he told me about a week to get my refund but then nothing.... By far the longest to respond from any company I have delt with. Maybe Randy needs to hire someone else to handle his paperwork? Should at least tell customers what is going on.

Exhaust did not fit on the car, so it had to be cut up to fit, muffler has been rattling for a year and a half, loss of low end torque
|
|
I bought this exhaust at AMVIV in March of 06. The exhaust arrived from the manufacturer the morning it was supposed to be installed. The system did not fit properly so it had to be cut up to fit. The exhaust worked great/sounded great for the first couple months. Then, a rattle in the muffler developed and has gotten progressively worse over the past year and a half. This system was installed on another vehicle with the same problem. Over the past 18 months I have been in touch with Randy and his staff, but nothing has been done. Although it seems that Randy does track test most of his products, this one certainly slipped through the cracks. As for Randy's 2 year, 24,000 mile warranty, that doesn't seem to be in effect for this product either. I have been in touch about every three months for the past 18 months, patiently waiting for him to provide me with a solution, but I have had no luck.
Reasons Randy has given me for not fixing my product/returning my money:
- working on it, I need a couple more months (this reason was given on 3 occasions)
- I can't fix the exhaust without having your car in Colorado at my shop
- I have to sell enough RAF systems to pay for the materials to build more exhausts
- I don't have enough money to give you a refund until I sell the Mini/Lotus.
Randy is a great guy, really knowledgable and fun to hang out with. At one point he seemed like a real asset to the Mini Community, but it seems like his priorities have shifted. Anyone that is considering buying from Randy, just beware that it might take awhile. You will probably get the product you are waiting for, and it will probably work on your car, but if something goes wrong, there is no support. Hope this information helps.
