Description: It is no secret that the lightest car retains the advantage in virtually any motorsports competition because the lightest car accelerates quicker, apexes faster, and stops shorter than its competition. That is why automotive enthusiasts continue to run the Braille B14115 No-Weight Battery in their vehicles.

Tipping the scales at a mere 11.5 lbs, this battery sheds 25 pounds or more off the front end of most vehicles. This results in a lower center of gravity and improved handling, especially when installed in conjunction with other proprietary lightweight parts engineered by Braille.

Not only is the Braille No-Weight Battery the only lightweight battery designed specifically for automotive use, but its also backed by Braille’s 1 year limited warranty. With all that, it’s no surprise that Braille batteries appear under the hoods of motorsports' top contenders.

Braille translates into Performance You Can Feel!

Pros: Small, light
Cons: not cheap

I saw TonyB\'s battery set up and couldn\'t wait to shed the weight. So I started looking around for a low cost supplier of the Odessy SLA (sealed lead-acid) battery. That\'s when I came accross this. one of the NAM vendors actually carries it as well!

Anyway, the installation was very easy. I didn\'t do too good a job cutting up some packing foam to take up all the space created in the battery box area, but at least it\'s held in place now. I\'ll get some more foam from the shipping department and do it better......

Anyway, it\'s been in the car for a few weeks now. Not a single problem, car starts fine, radio is fine etc. At 11.5 lbs, it sure sheds a lot of weight. This would be even better for Cooper drivers, as thier battery is in the front, AND it will have a larger contribution to power to weight ratio changes....

Not too flashy a mod, but if you want to shed weight, a very good way to go!

FYI, the Odessy, 680 class batter (don\'t rememeber the exact part number) is around 13.5 lbs, and can be found for about $80, if you want allmost all the benefit at a much improved price.

I know of three sources for the Braille....

www.brailleauto.com.......$175
www.helix13.com............$150
www.kingofimports.com...$157 (but you may still get a $25 discount by using the coupon code march when you buy)

The only reason I didn\'t give it a 10 was the price. But other than that, I love it!

Matt
