As much as I've enjoyed my MINI over the last year and a half, it's the third/toy car. My wife has been encouraging me to get something we can enjoy as a family and has been increasingly unhappy about the time away from the family and money spent on track days/weekends as first one then two kids came along. She used to go with me occasionally but not so much any more.
I'm the second owner and purchased it with a bit over 28K on it. The first owner bought it at M of Pittsburgh and it was serviced there. It has a couple of scuffs on the bumper that almost buffed out but as far as I know, hasn't had any body work done. It came equipped with Panther Black Leather as well as Combos 1, 2 and 3. I have some of their service records. I've either done work since myself or had C&G do it in Sewickley.
I've done the following upgrades:
-Magnaflow exhaust
-Madness CAI with cowl mod
-Madness 15% pulley
-ALTA 19mm rear sway
-NGK Plugs
-M7 400cc injectors
-RMW Tune
-TSW Springs
-R56 calipers and rotors (OEM and EBC Yellows)
-R90 wheels with Pirelli Euforis
-Team Dynamics PR1.2s with Falken Azenis RT-615 (available seperately)
-Covercraft NOAH fitted cover (available seperately)
-Bentley Shop Manual (available seperately)
-Schroth Quick Fit harness for driver and passenger (available seperately)
-OEM auxiliary input
I have the most of the original parts and the original S-Lites but they're "rough". They are straight and true but have quite a bit of curb rash and etched in brake dust. They'd be great for snows.
Cosmetically, I'd say the car is "average". The previous owners thought it was "excellent" but you all know how that is. The paint shine is good but it has a few dings and scratchs. Mechanically, it's solid and has low miles. The prior owner garaged it at home and work. I garage it at home and stored it from November through March.
Jan tuned it at Ecksten's in Rochester and it pulled 202hp/184ft-lbs. I've tracked it three times at Nelson and Beaver Run.
I like and enjoy the car and it's rather economical and fun to drive back and forth to work. I like this community as well but I get the itch to get something new (and it probably won't be a car) every couple of years and the wife is actually encouraging it this time. I'm willing to negotiate on price but I'll gladly keep it before I give it away.
