I just bought a new 2009 JCW MINI and the ‘02 Cooper S has to go.MAKE ME AN OFFER. I am the only owner and a non-smoker. This is a car enthusiast’s car. The car has been well cared for. The car was my daily driver, too.
The car has a new clutch, pressure plate and throw-out bearing, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder, radiator and front brake caliper rebuild within 100 miles. The brake master cylinder reservoir was replaced. The A/C compressor and freon was replaced 1 month ago. The dealer just replaced the driver’s side air bag loom on warranty. The idler pully and belt were replaced 1 year ago. The tires are also new.
This car is very special. It has a Torsen mechanical limited slip differential, a Digi-Tec ECU upgrade and smaller supercharger pulley. The car has a Helix cold air intake and Minspeed right side muffler eliminator that saves 18 pounds. The car sounds great. The motor makes 167 HP and 151 ft.-lbs. of torque at the front wheels. A dyno sheet is available upon request.
Besides these after-market mods the car was ordered with the factory Sport Suspension Plus - 16” wheels, sport suspension; spoiler, sport seats, DSC and fog lamps; auto A/C; Xenon headlights; and Multi Function Steering Wheel. The car also comes with an Escort Passport radar detector and a six point Sa-Belt harness in red with fittings. No holes were drilled to attach the harness.
The car has been auto-crossed and driven on the track. The car has won its class in the Southeast Region auto-x championship every year that it has competed.
The car has never been in an accident or crashed, no body work. The front does have quite a few small stone chips from following Porsches, BMW M3’s, etc. at the track, until they were passed in the twisty bits. The plastic on the back of the front seats is scratched up a bit. Otherwise the car and paint are in excellent condition. It looks great and runs even better. This car is perfect for daily reliable transportation on the week days and for lots of fast motoring fun on the weekends.
