I wonder how you could do it with out getting in trouble. I believe you have to get some kind of permission from said named college before you start selling copies of their logo. I know nothing about this subject, but I would believe you can't just go a print it and sell it with out doing something first.

From experience with a different venture, yes, you would need permission from the school to use their logos, etc. Some schools are more peculiar about it than others, but it can be done if you are willing to give them their cut of the sales proceeds.
I bought a metal University of Florida one in Gainesville about two years ago on a clearance table. The company was in Orlando and from the looks of it they had made them for many NCAA teams. They went out of business, however.
